Once upon a time there was a group of people called the Aztecs. The Aztecs first lived in Mexico. They were a small tribe of people. Huitzilopochtli the God of the sun was said to have told the Aztecs that he would take them to a new home. After 100 years of searching the Aztecs found a land by Lake Texcoco. Other tribes lived in the land forcing the Aztecs to move next to a swamp. The Aztecs had a special place in their heart for religion. They taught Nobles about religion, giving them a leadership role. The Aztecs used Warriors to take over other lands. Farmers were also taught religion. Farmers grew cocoa beans. Aztecs used their warriors to expand their land. One day they Aztecs found their capital Tenochtitlan. The Aztecs wanted to expand their land.
