A paraplegic doesn’t have the use of his legs, and is thus bound to a wheelchair in order to get around. A quadriplegic is someone who has had a spinal injury and has become paralyzed from the neck down. He has lost the ability to move his arms and legs. Quadriplegics are also bound to a wheelchair, though their ability to move is severely hampered because of their injuries.
The ReWalk
The ReWalk is a product from the company ReWalk. It’s a mobility device that enables paraplegics to stand upright and walk around. The ReWalk is actually an exoskeleton that you strap onto yourself. The exoskeleton has powered hip and knee motion, which allows the user to climb up and down stairs, walk, turn, and stand upright. The product is designed to be usable all day in your house as well as out in your community. There’s also a ReWalk made for rehabilitation for patients that are in therapy and need treatment.
