Hercules is a Demi God and was famous for his great strength and the 10 labors he volunteered for. He had to do the 10 labors to get rid of his sins. His sins were for killing his family. Victoria Soto was a first grade elementary school teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Victoria was famous for saving her students from the gunman who invaded her classroom. Victoria was a loving and caring person who was dedicated to her job. Our modern day has seen many modern heroes; such as firefighters from 9/11, first responders at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and everyday spectators at the Boston Bombing. First, the nonfiction article explains, “Soto 27, a 2003 graduate of Stratford High School, reportedly shielded her first-grade students from Adam Lanza’s gunfire with her own body. (staff reports, R59). Victoria Soto protected her students from the gunman who intruded her classroom. Soto did not have to shield her students, but since she was such a protective person she chose to protect them with all she could. Soto was so protective and saved all of her 24 students from the gunman who invaded her classroom making her a hero. Next, the author of the myth states, “ You must kill the Hydra a monster that has been terrorizing the neighborhood (Hercules:The Crime, R22). Hercules protected lots of people from the Hydra causing him to be a hero. Hercules was not supposed to kill the Hydra but he volunteered to when he did the 10 labors. Since, Hercules shared the quality of being protective like Victoria Soto he could be considered a hero if he was still alive
