Deep in the ocean, there are many different species of animals, we have discovered and many we still have to discover. It is crazy to think that there are places in this world we still have not discovered. The ocean is a mysterious place, no one has ever reached the bottom of the ocean, the water pressure will get too high causing your eardrums to burst. It is crazy to think about all those creatures that are yet to be discovered. However we have found some interesting animals, these are, The Giant Squid, Zombie Worms, Large Jellyfishes, and Yeti Crabs. In this essay, We will be focusing only on the Giant Squid, Zombie Worms, and the Yeti crab. The Giant Squid, this type of squid lives in the depth of the oceans they can be found on continental shelves and island slopes. They live approximately 500-1000 meters below the ocean surface. The yeti crabs live in the deepest parts of the ocean they live near Antarctica 7,200 feet below the surface. This surface has only been explored by a team of scientists since the scientist is not capable of going that low to the ocean th4ey used a remote-controlled vehicle according to Amy Bliss, writer of “Deep-Sea Vents.” In this area, the climate can be very hot and very cold at the same time. “Cold seawater pours into the earth’s crust and encounters molten rocks. Water spewing backout of the vents’ chimneys might reach 700F. A few feet away, water is barely above freezing.”(Bliss para.2) The reason why yeti crabs are able to survive in this crazy climate is that they have adapted there, in this place the web of life depends on chemistry and not photosynthesis according to Bliss. Yeti Crabs are new to science due to where they live. The crabs are believed to live off their own bacteria that grows on their hair, they are believed to scoop the mineral bacteria off. Altogether yeti crabs have a hairy chest and legs they do not have
