This isn’t an easy process as others make it out to be. Now,I would be a liar if I said this writing assignment is pointless. I’ve been given the opportunity to voice my personal opinion; based on the topic of lying. Two choices were available and one was voided. I find it discouraging that i’m writing my intro a second time. What i’ve just wrote hopefully is captivating enough to keep my readers attention. I figured since my thesis is about my opinion whether lying is acceptable or unacceptable. If i’m truly going to be honest, I am not entirely positive about this topic. For example, there was an Associated press that decided to take an ipsos poll, and the turnout was a little more than half in agreement and found no good reason to lie. The same poll again was repeated this time about two thirds felt it was ok to lie under the right circumstances. On that note, according to many people it was mentioned that a white lie isn’t frowned upon in society; depending on the situation. It was sad for me to admit that a good amount of parents find it necessary to lie to their children. This method is being used to gain control and becomes a part of many home everywhere. In addition, another poll was taken by a thousand adults and 4 out of 10 felt it was okay to may be exaggerate a story to keep people interested. Two thirds saw absolutely no harm in lying about their age. In all honesty I would call it stretching the truth and have total disregard for being honest in the given situation. Fear is what comes to mind when people lie out of ease. Therefore, when lying so frequently starts to become part of your daily routine you won’t be able to trust anyone. In turn I for one wouldn’t disregard lying. I don’t think it’s right to lie so often.
