Wynton Marsalis is Truly the Best Trumpet Player
Wynton Marsalis is a famous trumpet player that doesn’t receive as much recognition as he deserves. Wynton Marsalis is an African-American musician who also teaches classes to young musicians. Wynton Marsalis is a top-level trumpet player most likely because he was raised in a musical household. Though people believe that Louis Armstrong is better, they are wrong. Wynton Marsalis is the best trumpet player of all time.
Wynton Marsalis plays in a higher range than Louis Armstrong. Playing higher ranges on the trumpet is difficult because it takes a lot more concentration to get your lips in the exact right shape, and blow the right amount of air. This is one of the main reasons Marsalis is the better of the two. It is said that Armstrong didn’t even truly play high notes, but Marsalis casually plays the D above the stave in his music. You can see this in his music or on websites that transcript his music. This supports that Marsalis is better as the higher the better range.
