Now that the news of the Xbox One X has been released, let the hype, excitement, and chaos begin! Leading up to its release date, Microsoft have been advertising that it will be the next big hit for console gaming. With a 8-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.4 GHz and a 12GB graphic memory card and a 6 Teraflop GPU and the ability to run games and movies at 4K resolution, this is the world’s most powerful console to date. How can Playstation make a comeback from this?
The future for Xbox seems strong, especially when Sony’s latest console, the Playstation 4 Pro, doesn’t come close to what Microsoft's new product can offer. The Xbox One X may seem like the definite choice here, but maybe consumers should dig a little deeper and think when purchasing the console. Is the Xbox One X really worth it? To start things off, let us consider the price of each console. The regular Xbox One is no longer sold (unless it is a special edition/bundle), as it is succeeded by the Xbox One S, which retails for about $250. The Playstation 4 sells for about $269, and the Playstation 4 Pro retails for around $400. Out of all of these, the Playstation 4 Pro is obviously the most expensive. Um, hello? Does anyone at Microsoft listen to their players, or are you guys brain-dead? As a console player, I feel like this was a missed opportunity. The ability to have the game running smoother than other consoles would’ve absolutely secured the Xbox One X as the best console. The ability to increase the frame rate would be huge to gamers as they wouldn’t have to deal with the average 60 fps that every other normal console gives, but could instead crank it up to 80 fps or
