Every human has a trait that maybe good or bad Traits that make us who we are. These trait may help you make decisions these make you human. Character yonaton stands out as a character with the trait of ambitious. In an example the story its says “It was genius, Yoni was sure. And, if not, at least it was cheap.”. This character in my opinion would be described as selfish. Tessie Hutchinson said "You didn't give him time enough to take any paper he wanted. I saw you. It wasn't fair!” This was said when her family was chosen in the lottery. I believe that She said this because she realized she might die this is selfish because everyone had an equal chance to win. This moves the story along by building suspense for the reader wanting to see what happens to the winner of the lottery. Then in the text it also said Tess Hutchinson said ‘"There's Don and Eva," Mrs. Hutchinson yelled. "Make them take their chance!" ‘. I believe this show that Tess Hutchinson is selfish trying to get her daughters killed and helping herself survive.
