Title His 10 year old mind could not wait for tomorrow night. Young Matt had just learned the night before that TNT would be playing a marathon of the Star Wars prequels, 3 of his most enjoyed and favorite movies ever. Matt loved all of the Star Wars movies for George Lucas’s amazing storytelling and the obvious reason, the great visual effects in the movies. When Matt heard the news that tomorrow night TNT would be playing the prequels he told his entire family and they decided that they should have a family movie night. Matt’s family was elated and could not wait. Matt did notice one thing though when he told his family and that was that his dad (a massive Star Wars fan) did not look excited, in fact he looked disappointed. He did not know why but his ten year old thoughts didn’t pay much attention to it and went back to being elated. When Saturday evening rolled around his family was ready to go. They had all of their popcorn ready and dimmed the lights. They first watched The Phantom Menace. While watching Matt soon realized that much of the CGI in the movie clearly did not look as good as it did when the movie first came out. It in no way comparable to the original trilogy but many movies don’t for Matt. When the marathon ended, his father Tony had gotten up and walked over to the kitchen. Matt chased him over there and asked him what he thought. Tony looked down into his bowl of cereal, shrugged his shoulders and simply said ok. Matt asked him what had been bothering him the last couple of days and his father finally told him. His father began to tell him that he hated those movies because as a child his favorite movies were the original Star Wars and when the prequels came out when he was jumping with joy to see them only to have his heart crushed.
