1. In the past few years, youth sport has changed almost into professional sports. On page 116 of social issues in sport, there is an athlete’s bill of rights written in 1979. Discuss how youth sport has changed since then. Incorporate current research addressing current issues in youth sports. Where do you see youth sports in the year 2025?
Since the year 1979, the life of family in North America has tolerate or carry on many changes. A significant changes has been increase in the quotas or number of mother working outside the home, ascending from 40% of mothers in the 1970s to 71% of the mother with children below the age 18 in 2008 (Bereau of Labour statistics 2009). There is a link between participation in sports and performance in education. Physical education and sports in colleges positively influence on the education of youth. Physical education and sports in colleges improve the mental or cognitive development of the youth. Sports activities are very useful and helpful for enhancing the academic mission of colleges. Participation in after college sports program increase the ability of students to succeed academically. Students who participate in sports activities give excellent performance in class room. Physical education and sports should be introduced in all colleges to improve academic focus of the students.
Participation in greater physical and sports activities cause higher scores in class tests of students. Students who took part in sports activities obtain higher GPA as compared to those students who did not take part in sports. Participation in sports has positive influences on students’ concentration in education. Participation in sports has positive influences on memory. Students’ grades would worsen if they did not participate in college
