According to Campbell (“The Hero’s Adventure https://www.youtube.com”) a hero is someone who has given his/her life to something bigger than himself or other than himself. Someone who has found, achieve or done something beyond the normal range of achievement or experience. This person possesses courage and has the ability to contain and overcome their fears. They are dedicated and focused on the outcome and achievements of the task at hand.
Welles Remy Crowther Heros are idolized for their noble qualities. A hero is a selfless, brave, inspiring individual. A hero is a courageous person who is willing to do what it takes to help others. Welles Remy Crowther is well known as a hero because of his outstanding achievements.
What makes someone a hero? Most people would say someone who saves the day or has super powers or even characters in books are heroes. Antigone is a young woman in the play Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone is considered a hero by many for giving up her life for her brother and going against the law in 44 B.C. While Terry Malloy is considered a hero in the movie On the Waterfront for also going against rules. Malloy would be considered a rough kid who got into a bad situation with a group of mugs while working on the dock, not only does he save the day for himself but for others that are working on the docks as well. Antigone and Terry both go against rules for what they believe is right and become heroes.

Children learn from a very young age that heroes are people with extraordinary courage who save others. Naming a hero would be an easy task for a child, but naming someone with moral courage provides a whole new and unique challenge for these children. A person with moral courage is selfless and puts their own life at risk in order to save others. They do not think of their own needs. Instead, they focus on how they can use their abilities to aid others.
An off-duty cop was fueling his vehicle when another vehicle beside him set flame. The officer immediately took charge and broke through the burning vehicle and saved two people’s lives. This is a perfect example of a hero because he was brave, fearless, and ready to take charge at any disaster. Heroic men and women should be honored for their bravery and selflessness. This man had no idea that such a tragic event would occur at such an innocent time.
Anyone can be a hero. For instance, Robert Bentz was being selfless when he put himself between a driver of a stolen car and Bentz’ son. “In the split second of seeing the car coming straight at [his son] Roudy, Bentz cranked his steering wheel as hard as possible. That put him between the oncoming car and his son.” Though Bentz is a normal person, he was still able to save his son from injury.
For someone to be a hero they have to voluntarily conduct a service to one or more people. This service must involve risk to physical comfort, social stature, or quality of life, and they can’t expect any reward for doing this. Most people think of a superhero, like Batman or Spiderman, or someone closer to them such as their mother or their life-saving doctor. Heroes tend to be the main character in a story. Beowulf and Odysseus are two famous epic heroes in the texts Beowulf and The Odyssey.
Hero’s are great and powerful people. A Hero is someone who is willing to risk their life to help someone even though they don’t have to. Ponyboy is an example of a hero. Johnny is also a great example of a Hero. Bob though, is the complete opposite of a Hero.

There are various approaches to describing a hero. There is also an infinite number of individuals who can be defined as heroes. A hero can be a person who demonstrates valor. A hero can be a champion. A hero can even save a life or even mankind.
What is a Hero? When you think about a hero you think about the strong and corageous people that you see in a movie or T.V. show. Most of the time fictional heroes are flying or have other super hero powers but, we all know that people can’t just be born with those powers. So how do we know what a hero is? I’ve been asking family members and friends what a hero is to them and the outcome was the same for everybody I asked, the answer I got is someone thats willling to help someone or is doing alot for others and not themselves.
Many heros must be brave to face the evil ahead. They must also not be afraid to cry or fail. They will push on even if they are the only one to continue. An example is the people of the Civil Rights Movement because they were not afraid and stood strong. They knew they would get hurt but they still fought for what they believe.
