The author of the short story that our classroom is reading is Richard Connell. The title is “The Most Dangerous Game.” How does Rainsford successfully outsmart Zaroff in the manhunt? Rainsford outsmart him by setting a trap that kills one of Zaroff's tracking dogs and his gigantic sidekick. In my paragraphs I will be listing the things that Rainsford was successful at. One thing that Rainsford was successful at was that one of Rainsford’s burmese tiger pit has claimed one of my best dogs. General said “Your Burmese tiger pit has claimed one my best dogs”(Connell page 27) Rainsford had beaten one of Generals animal. General was impressed, but General had a more difficult task for Rainsford. He was gonna have Rainsford go against his whole pack. General said he had the most amusing evening. He was very smart. He was the only one who knew how to make a malay mancatcher. Not many really knew how to. General Zaroff had been watching Rainsford trying to kill. Rainsford had made a ford to get Zaroff. General had stepped into Rainsford’s ford, his foot touched the protruding product that was a trigger. He saw and tried to leap back, but wasn’t quick enough. The dead tree had came crashing down and struck the General on the shoulder. General was hurt but surprised that Rainsford knew how to make a malay mancatcher.
