Introduction

The chosen ecosystem is a bush or forest environment with grasses, plants, trees and small mammals and insects. There is little human activity present in this area except for the occasional foot traffic through the area. The abiotic factors of the ecosystem present are soil, sunlight, temperature and a high humidity. The biotic factors of the ecosystem are plants, weed shrubs, insects and small mammals.

Materials

The materials used to create the transect and quadrat line are;
• String
• Tent pegs
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
These materials were suitable for this purpose because they showed up clearly in the ecosystem and were readily available and needed no moderations made to the material except cutting and tying the string

Methods

Specie analysis

Ant eating spider (Zenodorus orbiculatus (Pystira orbiculata)
The ant-eating spider is an arachnid and is more commonly known as the jumping spider. Its diet consists of ants and other small insects. It is an Australia native but different types can be found all over the world. The eco system it was found in is full of small and large ants its main diets.

Ecosystem investigation

The organism found in this ecosystem varies from large and small amounts depending on the specie, the species found have a large variety in the ecosystem. In the ecosystem the organism found did not have to compete for shelter, as there is a number of logs, soil and dead foliage from the plants. They do not have to compete for food because there are a large number of preys to each predator in this eco system and both predator and prey are not cramped so there is no competition for space.
