The Zodiac Killer was a famous serial killer. The difference between the Zodiac killer and other serial killers was that he would taunt the police publicly by writing letters to numerous local newspapers. Police link him to at least five murders between 1968 and 1969, and possibly more. The zodiac killer had no specific M.O which made it difficult for law enforcement to narrow down a suspect. To this day, police and investigators have never arrested the suspect whom he named himself the Zodiac Killer. In the years of 1968 and 1969, The Zodiac Killer committed two separate attacks of two young couples within a seven month period. The first crime happened on December 20th, 1968, in Vallejo, California, where seventeen-year-old David Faraday and sixteen-year-old Betty Lou Jensen were shot to death near their car by Lake Herman. The crime had no motive behind the killing leaving police without a suspect. No further details could be made until his first letter came months later.
On July 5th, 1969, the Zodiac killed again. He shot twenty-two-year-old Darlene Ferrin five times, killing her, and shot nineteen-year-old Mike Mageau four times.
