Zun Lee Analysis

Street and commercial photography are two very different styles with different intentions yet they sometimes have a few things in common. These two styles can be portrayed in so many different ways. I will be comparing and contrasting the work of Zun Lee, a street photographer who specialises in portraiture and Matthew Coughlin, a commercial photographer who also specialises in portraiture.

Portraiture may be a standout platform amongst the most established types of visual representation. A portrait is a picture about an individual; it may be a painting, photograph or an other alternative representation. It depicts the physical presence for an individual, regularly incorporating a portion of the feeling of the individual's character. It is

His style is executed in an impulsive way. He works by exploring the street and observing his surroundings and the people that he sees. He is drawn to the people he photographs by anything from their appearance to personality or energy. In the short time that he spends with the strangers, he creates a bond with them. They open up to him even though they don't know him. It gives him a more personal meaning to the portraits. Being a street photographer is like being a storyteller. Discovering new faces and new cultures or backgrounds everyday. He illustrates people’s thoughts and state of mind through the images. He explores stranger’s pure vulnerability and what interactions follow. Essentially, his most cherished moments happen when a total strangers reacts with his dynamic and furthermore starts some sort of connection yet they are still pretty unsure if they can trust him or not. They would like to be able to place that trust in him but they are still holding back. That powerful interaction can create a lot of intriguing instants and expressions in which the person uncovers a part of them that they might not hastily reveal to somebody they don't know in different circumstances. Certainly, that obliges a considerable amount of work to fill in his part as well. He can't quietly wait for these moments to take place, he assumes a part in permitting those subjects to get there and feel relaxed.

The street is a dynamic yet relaxing

He began his path towards becoming a professional photographer a few of years ago. He had previously been working with video editing and he was not completely passionate about it about this field. He started looking for a new career in photography. In the beginning of his newfound interest, he started taking creative self-portraits and portraits of his own family and friends and it quickly became his passion.

He uses strobes in the majority of his photos. Sometimes he uses as many as three strobes to get the final look he wants to achieve. His work uses impactful and quite beautiful studio lighting in natural environments. After his work in the studio his spends quite a lot of time editing his files. After all of the image processing, they still do not look fake, they just look sharp and clean. He also allows his audience to view his setup and behind the scenes shots so that they can understand his
