For my art project I chose the M16 Eagle Nebula or commonly known as the Pillars of Creation. From a little research and reading. The red channel highlights the towering gas and dust structures within the nebula. In the case of this image, it would be the iconic pillars because of all the hydrogen gas. The green channel shows moderate densities of the nebula. For example, the textures and transitions in the gas clouds. The blue channel brings out the faintest, most diffused regions of the nebula, possibly showing scattered light from smaller or less dense dust particles and high-energy emissions. It might provide a softer contrast to the bold structures seen in the red channel. When the channels are combined, the Image transforms into a vibrant display of glowing gas and towering structures.
For this image I basically inversed the coloration so that the blue and red are more dominate. After doing this the spires became more dull and the portion that was green became red and more noticable.
In my image I layered a speaker, microphone, and vinyl player. I chose these three images because music is a passion of mine and it creates a dynamic narrative of audio technology and its evolution. I chose the speaker because its often associated with modern sound systems and symbolizes the output and amplification of music and voice, and the speaker contains the power of sound in today's world. I chose the microphone because it captures the essence of human expression, and serves as a bridge between performer and audience, though. Next is the vinyl player. The vinyl player evokes nostalgia, and grounds the image in the history of analog sound reproduction, with its timeless connection to music enthusiasts. Together, these layers weave together past and present, showcasing the interconnected roles of recording, playback, and amplification in shaping experiences of analog sound. This explanation of why I picked each image also ties into why I selected the colors I did and why they look similar in coloration. I chose this coloration because of the calming effect of the color. The fact that all three images have a close to similar color represents how similar yet different these forms of audio are. In this image I used a similar technique to the nebula but use significantly less reds to give more of a cohesive feel.
