Camila Zambrana Díaz Should marijuana be legalized?I believe that marijuana use should be legalized in Puerto Rico due to its potential benefits for the economy, health, and public safety. Legalization could generate significant tax revenue for the government, which could be used to improve public services like education and infrastructure. Additionally, medicinal marijuana has been shown to help alleviate symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, and other medical conditions, providing relief to many patients. Legalization would also reduce the burden on the judicial system by decreasing the number of arrests for non-violent drug-related offenses. While some argue that legalization could increase substance abuse, strict regulations, such as age restrictions and limits on theamount that can be sold, could help minimize this risk. In conclusion, legalizing marijuana would benefit Puerto Rico both economically and socially while improving access to medical care for those in need.Social media is affecting young people?Social media has a significant impact on young people, both positively and negatively. On one hand, it allows young people to connect with friends, share ideas, and access a wealth of information. Platforms like YouTube and LinkedIn can help them develop skills, build careers, and learn about different cultures. However, excessive use of social media can negatively affect mental health, leading to issues like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem due to cyberbullying or comparison with others. Some critics might argue that social media itself is not harmful and that it all depends on how it is used, but its addictive design makes it difficult for young people to control their usage. In conclusion, while social media has its benefits, its negative effects on mental health and productivity should not be overlooked, and moderation is key.
