Background and SignificanceThe Asia-Pacific area is very important from a strategic point of view because of its changing economies, global importance, and security problems. When it comes to its own safety and wealth, the US sees the Indo-Pacific as very important, especially with China's growing power. A lot of thought went into this study about the US's role in the Asia-Pacific region, especially its relationship with India as a way to balance out China's power. The Asia-Pacific area is importantfor both world politics and business. The economy in this area has grown a lot, making it a centerfor trade and business around the world. The security of the area is very important for the stability of the world economy. However, the rise of China as a major world power has changed the way things work. China's actions in the South China Sea and its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) have given it more power and made it harder for the US and its partners to control the world as they used to (Zhao, 2015). Despite this, the US has important defense and business interests in the area. Asia-Pacific countries are very important because their economies are interconnected and they make a big addition to the world's GDP (Shambaugh, 2018). But border disagreements and military buildups, especially involving China, make things more difficult in the world of politics. These issues affect the safety and economic policies of the area.US's Indo-Pacific StrategyThe US Indo-Pacific strategy aims to ensure a free, open, and rules-based international order in the region. This strategy encompasses various dimensions, including economic, diplomatic, and military engagements. The US has sought to strengthen alliances and partnerships with key regional players like Japan, Australia, and notably India (He & Li, 2020). However, China's rise presents a significant challenge to this strategy. The US has increased its military presence and conducted freedom of navigation operations in the South China Sea to counter Chinese military assertiveness (Mishin, 2023). Yet, this strategy is not solely about containment; it also involves engaging China in dialogue and cooperation on global issues such as climate change and nuclear non-proliferation. Nonetheless, the Indo-Pacific strategy highlights the US's commitment to maintaining a balance of power in the region, ensuring that no single power, particularly China, can dominate.Research Questions and ObjectivesThis research aims to explore the multifaceted role of the United States in the Asia-Pacific region, with a specific focus on its strategic partnership with India to counter Chinese influence.Key Questions Addressing the US-China Rivalry and US-India Relations
