Why do you think Morren and Raja’s relationship changed when Morren took on a position of leadership? When Morren got promoted, their relationship probably changed because of the new roles. Before, they were friends and worked together as equals. Once Morren became the boss, things likely felt different for Raja. She might have felt jealous, uncomfortable, or even upset about Morren now being in charge. It’s tough when friends or colleagues suddenly become boss and employee, and that change can lead to tension. Raja might not have been ready for that shift, and it may have affected how she saw Morren and how they interacted at work. What type of problematic follower do you think Raja is? Raja seems to be a passive-aggressive and uncooperative follower. Instead of directly talking to Morren about her concerns, she avoids responsibility and tries to make things difficult in indirect ways. For example, Raja doesn't show up for meetings, cancels last-minute, and then denies agreeing to the project altogether. Instead of communicating clearly or owning up to her actions, she tries to make Morren look bad by twisting the facts, like sending emails to higher-ups. This kind of behavior makes it harder for Morren to do her job and creates problems within the team. If you were Morren, what would your next step be? Why? If I were Morren, my next step would be to have an honest, one-on-one conversation with Raja to clear things up. Morren needs to explain how things have changed now that she’s in charge, and she should be clear about what she expects from Raja moving forward. Morren could also ask Raja about any problems or frustrations she might have and try to work through them. If Raja continues to resist or refuses to take responsibility, Morren may need to involve HR to help fix the situation. It’s important to address these problems early on to prevent them from getting worse and affecting the whole team.
