1Donesha Cooper TIm Buttler Tech for Teacher 04 December 2023Using TPACK Perspective To Integrate Technology In The Classroom As A teacher my approach to integrating technology in my classroom is using the technological pedagogical content of knowledge ( TPACK). Which is a framework that highlights as my guide when it comes to using technology in my classroom as a teacher, The overlapping of 3 knowledge domains, technological knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), and content knowledge (CK) is highlighted by the framework. I would like to think that I can use an array of technologies in my classroom to improve the education of my students such as google, chromebooks, videos, apps. Chromebooks are one of the forms of technology that I would like to provide my studentswith for quick access to the internet and resources and collaborative features for students to interact in the classroom. Students' engagement and teamwork abilities may be enhanced while collaborating on group projects on site such as google docs or group discussions on google meet using chromebooks to integrate a technology tool into the pedagogical and content teaching area of instruction that is in line with the TPACK framework. While paper and pen has been the standard for education supplies in the classroom it doesn't necessarily fit with the (TPACK) frameworks in which its goal is to advance technology in the classroom. In today's technologically advanced words using tech can improve the outcomes for learning and is often an essential part of effective teaching. Digital tools encourage learning through collaboration and offer swift feedback and interactive resources that can help to
2accommodate a variety of learning styles. Educators are encouraged by the TPACK framework to think about how the framework interacts with different subject matters. Although paper and pen provides the tangle experience it may not be possible to fully utilize tech and engage the students in the learning process. And other forms of tech provide more of a more modern approach to teaching. One piece of tech I will be using in my classroom is Google application programs I thinkthis is the one form of tech that would take more convincing of my to get my school on board with as most school already use in there schools and in their classrooms and as a future teacher I plan to incorporate this form of tech in my classroom. Google docs makes sharing information with parents easier and having student collaboration in your classroom easy as well, as an educator I could use google classroom to arrange assignments and promate communion. These application use the framework of (TPACK) under the (PK) approaches and facilitating the content in a digital form. There are many influences that many effective the teaches use of technology in the classroom outside of what the limitations that the curriculum might put on us as educators, such as the accessibility of the technology that is trying to be used in the classroom, the readiness of my students and does it meet their developmental age, and do i have the support of admin to us this form of technology in my classroom. When it comes to the accessibility of some technology there are some challenges i might find such as wherever or not the internet is working, or do the students have internet a home to access this tech when they are outside of my classroom because the simplicity of not having internet can cause an huge issue when introducing new tech into the classroom.
3As a teacher i also need to assess when of not my students are ready for the technology i would like to bring in my classroom when that may be an app or even the use if a VR headset or chromebooks with full access to the internet because these forms of tech have influence on students so making sure that they are prepared to and have had training/ instructions or even orientation on how to use the tech appropriately in the classroom is super important. Something in my option that is just as important as making sure your students are ready. As well as how easy it is to access it is wherever or not you have the support of the admin, as a teacher it is really hard to try to bring in any new form of technology with our consulting and and having the support of admin as you will be met with a lot of resistance in trying to implement this new form of technology in your classroom, as a teacher you want that encouragement from admin to support the innovation, and without the support of admin it is less likely that you will have the support of the parents which may or may not hinder the integration of the technology you are trying to use in your classroom. Personally I believe the success of the integration of tech in the classroom is a step forward for the progression of education as it creates a new resource that comes with a variety of assets. Also digital technology has the potential to enhance the engagement, teamwork, and even critical thought process of your students and I think that is exactly what the (TPACK) frameworkis trying to promote. The Dynamic nature of technology corresponds with the rapid changes that are required in the 21st century, but I see the need for balance and to keep and use some transition tools as needed in my classroom. If that means that i am accepting a teaching positions that requires the opposite of what i believe with it comes to technology in the classroom, i would have to sit down with administration to understand the resistance and see if it is valid
4pedagogical reason and the needs of specific students needs i would be willing to modify my teaching techniques and strategies. In summary, thoughtful consideration of the TPACK framework is necessary to ensure that technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge are aligned when integrating technology into the classroom. It is important to carefully consider the factors that affect technology use in curriculum-based lessons as well as outside of them. Even though some people prefer using digital technology, a well-rounded strategy that includes conventional tools is necessary to createa thorough and productive learning environment.
