Jessica 1)How long have you been a manager, and how many people have you managed? a.I have managed for over 12 years. I currently have 22 employees and 8 providers2)How would your direct reports describe your management style? a.Strong and supportive (Probably a little too much to handle sometimes), and that throughout it all, I care about them as a person, not just an employee3)How has your management style changed as you got more experience? a.I have learned to listen to every complaint, even if I disagree, and by taking the time to listen to the patient, employee or whomever I am able to manage positively. 4)What is a common way you see people fail as managers? a.I don’t know that I have seen a manager “fail”. I have seen managers use styles that are not as effective, one of those is to micro-manage their employees 5)When was the last time you had to deal with an underperforming employee, and how did you handle it? a.Recently I had an employee that I had to coach. I try to start a timelinewith dates and occurrences of issues. First, I will speak with them and educate them on what needs to be change and how.
