Step 2: Procedure and Data CollectionInitial Setup: I entered a completely dark room, used a light switch to control the lighting, and rang a bell to activate the conditioned stimulus.Step-by-Step Process:Trial Setup: I rang the bell and immediately turned off the light to create darkness. I waited for 15 seconds in the dark, then turned on the light and waited another 15 seconds before repeating the process.Trials: I repeated the process 10-20 times as specified. After each trial, I monitored pupil dilationwith a mirror. Results from the Trials:Number of Trials for Conditioning: After 12 trials, the pupil began to dilate as soon as the bell rang, even without darkness, which indicated that classical conditioning had occurred.Number of Trials for Extinction: Extinction occurred after eight trials of ringing the bell without turning off the light (no darkness following the bell). The conditioned response (dilation)started to reduce, and after eight trials, the pupil no longer dilated in response to just the bell.
