Cross-RefJOB / TASK WRITE-UPPage 2of 6The first thing done is to cut a piece to 103mm ensuring that we leave extra on the job to ensure we are within the required size after squaring up the piece This photo shows the necessary squared edge that is needed for the Datum on the job which has been achieved using a file The final measurement that need to be achieved after filing is 100mmHow did you check, for squareness? And what did you check it withI checked for squareness with an engineers square by holding piece up to light and ensuring I could not see any.DO

Cross-RefJOB / TASK WRITE-UPDrawings / Sketches / Diagrams / Photos / GraphsPage 3of 6In this photo we can see that the metal has been blued in order to make marking out easier and more visible This is a Vernier height gauge it is used to ensure that the measurements we scribed onto the block are accurate and precise For the Linear Holes Positions at 25mm intervals

Cross-RefJOB / TASK WRITE-UPPage 4of 6This photo shows the work piece fully marked out with centre dots, once marked out it is checked for accuracy and to ensure it is within the 0.1mm tolerance. This is micrometre blue this is used to observe any high spots which may be left on the work piece after filing the sides down to 19mm so we are able to achieve a fully flat surface How did you check the sizes? I checked the sizes using a micrometre ensuring it was calibrated before using it Here we can see the Bridgeport set up in order to drill the holes that are required in the hanging bracket the holes need to be drilled at 25 mm intervals along the hanging bracket and 8mm in from the edge. When doing this we must ensure that we are working to tolerance which on this job is +/- 0.1mmBefore the holes are drilled the drill speeds need to be calculated. This is to ensure that Iam working at the correct speeds as to not damage the drill. Calculation speed and formula??N=1000S/PIE D = 970 RPM FOR A 6MM DRILL BIT

Cross-RefJOB / TASK WRITE-UPPage 5of 6Once the piece was cut to size and drilled the tolerances were checked andensured that all measurements met the tolerance of +/- 0.1mm.This photo shows a file being used to achieve the desired finish on the work piece. This desired finish is 1.6UmWhat did you check the surface finish with? Using a roughness tester

Cross-RefJOB / TASK WRITE-UPWhat safety issues did you encounter when undertaking the job?I experienced no major safety issues while undertaking the job as I was safe at all timesand ensured that I wore the correct PPE.What difficulties did you experience whilst undertaking the job?One difficulty I experienced while undertaking the job was ensuring that the edges wereperfectly square. What will you do differently next time when given a similar job /task?If I was given the same job next time I would start to draw file straight away rather thanusing another technique as it is easier to keep the edges square with one another.Assessor FeedbackI confirm that all of the data recorded on this form is entirely my own work:Candidate Signature:I confirm this task write up meets the minimum performance criteria:Assessor Signature:Date:Stamp:Page 6of 6REFLECT
