2COURSE FORMAT:Lectures are designed to reinforce and supplement the textbook and article readings, solectures may include material that is not covered in the readings. You are responsible for all material covered inlectures, including lecture slides and lecture content, activities, video clips, demonstrations, andannouncements. The third examwill take place during our final exam time block andis not cumulative. The topics for each exam will includelectures, textbook and assigned readings, and in-class assignments. The format for Exams 1 and 2 will bemultiple-choice, true or false, fill in the blank, and short answer. The format for Exam 3 will be multiple choiceand true or false only and isnot cumulative.Exams will be hosted via the Honorlock digital proctoring system with Browser Guard. Honorlock is utilized forstudent identity verification and to ensure academic integrity. This system requires students to have access to awebcam, microphone, and reliable Internet connection with Chrome browser (I do not recommend GT VPN).You will need to use your camera to scan all four walls of your room, as well as your workspace, desk, and areaaround your computer to confirm the integrity of the testing environment. The exam environment should bewell-lit and free from distractions and interruptions. Honorlock will record exam sessions through yourwebcam, microphone, and recording your screen. Honorlock reports will be reviewed after each exam.Additional details will be provided in advance of the first exam.See Page 11 of our Syllabus for additional details regarding Honorlock in our course.Please see Canvas announcements for details about exam deadlines and other exam details. No late submissionswill be allowed for any exams. 33.Written Assignments:A total of six (6) written assignments worth 15 points each will be due over the courseof the semester (see the course schedule for details). These written assignments are to be completed outside ofclass and submitted to Canvas prior to the assigned deadline in our course syllabus and in Canvas. Theseassignments must be typewritten. Use Georgia Tech’s online library to findthe empirical articles.The article must be published in one of the following psychology journals:Psychological Bulletin, Psychological Science, Current Directions in Psychological Science, Advances in Experimental Psychology, orComputers in Human BehaviorNote: If you do not follow the directions in terms of the journal and article PDF upload, you will receive aZEROfor the article critique and it will not bereviewed.No exceptions will be made.The extra credit article critique must include a summary of the article and your personal reaction to the article.SECTION 1. 11HONORLOCK – COURSE EXAMSExams will be hosted via the Honorlock digital proctoring system with Browser Guard. Honorlock is utilized for studentidentity verification and to ensure academic integrity. This system requires students to have access to a webcam,microphone, and reliable Internet connection with Chrome browser (I do not recommend GT VPN). You will need to useyour camera to scan all four walls of your room, as well as your workspace, desk, and area around your computer toconfirm the integrity of the testing environment. The exam environment should be well-lit and free from distractions andinterruptions. Honorlock will record exam sessions through your webcam, microphone, and recording your screen.Honorlock reports will be reviewed after each exam. Additional details will be provided in advance of the first exam.The work on all exams must be your OWN work, that is, they are not to be completed with the help or aid of others oroutside materials. Honorlock is utilized for student identity verification and to ensure academic integrity. Honorlock providesstudent identity verification via facial and ID photos. You will also be asked to scan the room around you.Honorlock employs AI technology to notify course instructors of potential academic integrity violations. If any violations areflagged by Honorlock, I and/or my Teaching Assistants will personally review the video of the potential violations to ensurethat the incident actually is a violation of my academic integrity course policy. Depending on the type of violations that occurs,I will proceed with the steps outlined in the academic integrity policy.Taking an Exam with Honorlock. While Honorlock will not require you to create an account or schedule an appointment inadvance, you will need Google Chrome and theHonorlock Chrome Extension. You will also need a computer, a workingwebcam/microphone, your ID, and a stable internet connection.When you are ready to take an exam, log into Canvas, go to our course, and click on the exam. Clicking "Launch Proctoring" willbegin the Honorlock authentication process, where you will take a picture of yourself and show your ID. During theauthentication steps, you will be prompted to complete a room scan. This is a student authentication step in which you will beasked to perform a 360-degree scan of your environment including the workspace, desk, and area around the computer withthe computer or webcam to confirm the integrity of the testing environment. Honorlock will be recording your exam sessionthrough your webcam, microphone, and recording your screen. Honorlock also has an integrity algorithm that can detectsearch-engine use, so please do not attempt to search for answers, even if it's on a secondary device.Students are responsible for selecting a location where they are comfortable with the space being videoed and audio recorded.The space should ideally be well-lit, free from external noise, distractions, or other interruptions, and private in nature. Somestudents choose to use their dorm or bedrooms, however, any space that meets the above criteria is acceptable for this course.Since you will be asked to perform a room scan, I recommend removing anything from the area that you are not comfortablehaving scanned or recorded.Additionally, I have set up Honorlock so thatthe following are not allowedduring our exam session: referencing books ornotes, scratch paper, breaks, calculators, headphones, hats, mobile phones, or background noise.Honorlock Support.Honorlock support is available 24/7/365.
