CONSUMER BEHAVIORIndividual AssignmentExercise 1Think of a product or service you currently use that is primarily targeted toward your gender, but that you believe could also succeed if marketed to the opposite gender. Consider how you would market this product or service to that opposite gender. Would the packaging or appearance remain the same, or would it need to change? How would it differ when marketed tothe opposite gender? Where would you sell it? What pricing strategy would you use? How would you advertise it?The product I currently use that is primarily targeted towards women from 25 to 40 years old who are concerned with their aging facial skin is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser Water Gel (Hyaluronic Acid). I believe that this product could also succeed if marketed to men of the same age bracket. I would market it through online sharing of my experience with the product on my skin and I will convince the opposite gender, especially my friends, that it can be effectiveon the male skin so that they could help me through word of mouth and also by sharing their skin care experience to their male friends. The packaging or the appearance could remain the same since the liquid content is seen in its transparent container or packaging and it could still attract the opposite gender in the stores. There would be no difference when marketed to the opposite gender since most men of the same age bracket nowadays are more concerned with their aging skin on the face. It is already being sold in malls nationwide but I would also sell it through social media and online shopping platforms and also personally market it with my male friends and their male friends. The economy pricing strategy will be used in this product since I consider its value to the customer. I would advertise it through word of mouth, video editing with actual male users of the product with before and after use of the product, online advertisements through social media platforms.Exercise 2Interview two individuals from different generations about a purchase of a specific product (e.g., shoes, mobile phone, etc. – your choice). Ask them what features they would consider, how theywould purchase the product, and where they would buy it. Compare and contrast their responses. Do you think there is a significant difference in the consumer behavior between these two generations?GenerationMillennials/Generation YBaby BoomersProductMobile PhoneLatest Car   Features to ConsiderBrand is not important if the features I needed are met:·   Quality of camera;·   Processing & speed power;·   Storage capacity;·   Battery life capacity;·   Design, display & build quality·   Budget allocated for the car;·   Fuel efficiency;·   Fuel type should be diesel;·   Safety features;·   After sales maintenance;·   Engine power & performance;·   Warranty·   Size & comfortability

How they would purchase it?Purchase the product by personally checking all its specifications and features to determine the quality and condition of the device are both good and that it would meet the features I needed.I will purchase the product either through full cash transaction (if budget permits) so I can avail discounts, or through installment options (if the budget does not permit) at the time of transaction.Personally visit the showroom. Check the car physically and the features I consider. Have a test drive. I will pay it in full price througha bank cheque and have it financed through bank car loan for a maximum 3 years of payment. Where they would buy it?I would buy the product at an authorizedreseller or store of any mobile phones where there is good sales and good feedback from customers.I will buy the car at the dealer branch near my current location. In my opinion, there is no significant difference in the consumer behavior between the two generations. There may be a big generation gap between the two individuals that I have interviewed, but the mindset of a person has a grown as time evolves, especially the older generation is catching up with the younger generation’s mindset in decision making based on the information gathered in the trending world especially on the product they wanted to buy. Theolder generation (Baby Boomer) has been doing research and physical check of the latest trend and features of the car he wanted to buy and same goes with the younger generation (Millennials) with the mobile phone she wanted to buy, she will do research and do physical check of the product. Both generations are very much careful with purchasing a product because they value their money and they would purchase the product they wanted in the authorized reseller or dealer.
