Introduction paragraph Is John proctor a good man?He is a good man and I say that because he tells the truth about his affair with Abigail. He cares and respects other people in Salem and sacrifices himself instead of “selling out” his friends. He is an honest man of faith who values integrity and reputation but possesses the fatal flaw of lust. He helps people in need,loves his wife and stays a truthful man before he dies.He chose to ruin his reputation by confessing the truth.
Body paragraph I say that John proctor is a good man because he wanted to do the right thing. John is the most heroic character in the play because even though he made poor choices to die for truth instead of living a lie and is respected for it. He tells the truth about his affair with abigail, proctor reveals in court that “A man may think god sleeps but god sees everything” as he confess the truth in court he feels guilty about the affair and says god sees everything.John proctor has made mistakes but learned from his mistakes. Proctor is a good man cause he actually admits what he did was wrong instead of lying about the situation.Proctor also helps francis the nurse save his wife's life.
Conclusion paragraphTowards the end you can obviously tell he's a good man and it shows that he cares more about his relationship with the lord matters rather than with people from salem.Even though he made a mistake that cost him his life he still was a true believer in god and his mortality was everything to him.John proctor is seen as a tragic hero because of his tragic flaw,free choices and increased awareness.Honest,upright and blunt spoken proctor is a good man but one with a secret, fatal flaw. His lust for Abigail Williams led to their affair and created Abigail's jealousy of his wife Elizabeth which sets the entire witch hysteria in motion.John refusal to dishonor himself even at the cost of his own life,shows that he is ultimately a good man.John showed us that he is willing to risk his integrity, not to save himself but to save other peoples life including his wife.
