MY PERSONAL REFELXION ON TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD By Joaquin Tegel 1.The topics of justice, empathy, and moral courage touched in *To Kill a Mockingbird* really strike a chord. This depiction of standing against prejudice and defending what is right, even when society disagrees, raises some deep reflection of my values and everyday choices.2 Atticus Finch is a paragon of integrity, wisdom, and empathy; he always stands for what is right, though others oppose him. Scout is innocent, yet curious, and provides new insights both on prejudice and humanity. Together, resilient and morally courageous, their character shall never be forgotten in *To Kill a Mockingbird.*3.It is distressing to the point whereby the racist persecution and injustice happen to Tom Robinson, which evidences profound flaws in society. The ignorance and cruelty among the townspeople frustrate the elements thatare being judged without understanding. The pain elements make the realistic nature of the story very important for reflection.4. *To Kill a Mockingbird* is an elaboration of deep messages on justice, empathy, and moral courage. It goes deeply into racial injustice and shows how it causes immense harm due to prejudice and/or discriminatory practices, as found in the case of Tom Robinson. The story lifts up the character of Atticus Finch as an example of integrity, standing up for what is right, and seeing the point of view of others before judgment. The rites of passage into which Scout is propelled underpin much of the loss of innocence, brutal reality, and use of compassion in dissolving barriers. Ultimately, the novel dares readers to question the status quo and to pick empathy and justice, even when it hurts.5.
