Transforming communication, education, business and healthcare. One may wonder how people communicated before the advent of the telephone especially through distances. Postal mail was the most efficient means of communication. Beforethat, early civilization used drums, smoke signals, semaphores and carrier pigeons. Healthcare management has improved with the integration of applications that track exercise, sleep, diet and blood pressure into smartphones. Hence, people can monitor their healththemselves. Along with this convenience, it also poses the danger of ionizing radiation, which could cause cancer.Smartphone features like camera, sound and video recorder allow people to live in the moment while simultaneously capturing mementos. More features like torchlight, GPS, and evenmusic help us carry less load around considering that all these are included in one handheld, pocket-sized device. It is true that the ubiquity of the smartphone has a huge impact on the society and life as awhole. Personally, I think the changes are more positive than negative. However, because the smartphone is a tool, it depends on how we use it to determine if ultimately serves or hurts us.
