As I embark on this application journey for the position of Financial Aid Advisor at California Baptist University, I am compelled to share not just my professional qualifications, but also my journey of faith. My Christian experience has been a profound guiding force in shaping both my character and my career aspirations. Growing up in a devout Christian household, I was immersed in the teachings of Jesus Christ from an early age. I learned about compassion, humility, and the importance of servanthood. These values became the cornerstone of my identity and continue to influence multifaceted aspects of my life. My faith journey has been marked by deep soul searching, spiritual growth, and honing my faith disciplines. It was during my college years that I truly began to understand the transformative power of faith. One of my spiritual turning points began during COVID-19 when I entered the transfer portal as an unsure athlete. I was offered another opportunity across the country and all I could think about was the uncertainty of my athletic career. As I trusted myself, my coaching staff, and ultimately God, I was gifted the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend Azusa Pacific University on a full scholarship. In a time of worry and uncertainty, I turned toward my faith to anchor me in the storm. After graduating from college, I felt a calling to pursue a career in faith and financial expertise. This led me to the field of financial aid counseling. I saw it as an opportunity to embody the principles of stewardship and generosity while assisting students in achieving their educational goals. As a Financial Aid Advisor, I understand the importance of empathy, integrity, and resourcefulness. I believe that every student deserves access to quality education, regardless of their financial status. My goal is not only to provide financial assistance, but also tooffer support, guidance, and encouragement to those facing strenuous obstacles on their educational journey. At CBU, I am drawn to the university’s commitment to fostering an
inclusive, vibrant Christian community and empowering students to live fiercely in their faith. I am inspired by CBU’s mission to equip students with the knowledge, skills, values, and resources needed to make a lasting positive impact in the world. My Christian experience has equipped me with the perspectives, values, and competencies necessary to excel as a Financial Aid Advisor at CBU. I am eager to contribute to the university’s mission of exceeding academic excellence and Christian service. I am looking forward to growing professionally and spiritually through this opportunity.
