1.Gripe sites are often created by dissatisfied customers because of their disagreement withcompanies. Dissatisfied customers create these websites as a sign of dissatisfaction to harm acompany’s or business name brand. Legally, this is considered trademark infringement because itcreates confusion about legitimate companies. The Gripe sites are created with very closesimilarities to the actual websites. For example, Youtube.com is the correct domain name forYouTube, but if a website is created as Youtub.com with only missing a letter or adding a letter/sthis could confuse users who want to reach the legitimate YouTube website. Creating Gripe Sitesviolates the Federal Trademark Dilution Act. If customers are unhappy with the offendingcompany, they should seek other legal paths rather than taking the matter into their own hands. This will not only cause harm to the business but also confuse customers who have nothing to dowith their dissatisfaction. 2.Since the dawn of the Internet emails have been almost the sole means ofcommunication, especially in professional environments. Does receiving an email permit us toforward it to others? Well, email holds the same copyright characteristics as any other intellectualproperty might hold. “An original work of authorship,” the vast majority of emails of more thana few words meet the low bar for originality described by the Supreme Court in FeistPublications, Inc. v. Rural Telephone Service Company. 3.
An online payment company should establish the following to be in compliance withSarbanes-Oxley and PCI DSS laws: Implement security measures, establish internal control, andseparate duties. Security Measures Implementation:This requires the company to establish the necessarysecurity measures to secure and protect cardholder information. These security measures includeaccess control, firewalls, and strong encryption. Internal Control:Requires implementing a complete, accurate, and reliable financial reportingsystem. Duty Separation or Compartmentalization: This is the step where duties and tasks related toany financial transactions are separated. This step helps ensure that fraud and any otherinformation leakage is prevented.
