Each fall, civic organizations, religious groups, small cities and schools across the United States celebrate the Homecoming, a weekend that offers an opportunity for current residents to welcome those who have moved. Why is homecoming such a big deal here in DeWitt? I mean, it’s celebrated in high schools all over the US. Ours can’t be that special, right? But it is. Our whole week is filled with dress up days and assemblies and then it all ends with a football game and a dance. How does our homecoming set us apart from others though? I asked multiple people and everybody agreed that it is our spirit and our bond with each other that sets us apart. From the first day of September, the community is thrilled for

Last week was Homecoming, and it was an entertaining week. In my opinion it was the best Homecoming I ever experienced, but my favorite event was the Womanless Pageant. It’s a pageant where the boys dressed up like girls and walked around the gym and have a good time. I participated in the pageant this year and had a blast. When I first heard about I didn’t want to join but I lost a bet and had no choice. I spread the word around school and recruited some more students to join in the pageant along

The move that changed my life Well, who likes to move from one place to another place? Well I am not a big fan either. Also moving from one place to another in the city is painful, I realized that when I helped my cousin to move from one apartment to another. I feel it’s too much work such as bag packing, carrying, organizing everything and many other things. Also takes a long time. But it does have an impact on our lifestyle, even if it’s a move in the same city or different state or country. Everyone
being together a lot we got to see a lot of eachother. As school had just started I really began to like Ashley and decided I should just take a chance and ask her to homecoming. I had always been pretty smooth when it came to talking to girls but with Ashley I was a nervous mess. I built up the courage and asked her to homecoming on a hot August day right after cross country practice.
known as Homecoming season had begun at Lawrence E. Elkins High School. The air was thick with talk of potential dates, potential ways of asking, and potential ways of transportation. I personally thought the whole thing was overrated and overhyped but I was actually buying in this year as I was a senior and this would be final opportunity to be a part of the Homecoming craze and I would go all in I wanted to take part in as many social activities as I could my senior year so I figured Homecoming would
Homecoming tells the tale of the four Tillerman children and their quest to find ‘home’. One day, their mother abandons them at a shopping center and instructs them to go to their Aunt Cilla’s house which is a great distance away. Due to their circumstances, they are forced to walk there and hope for the best. Dicey, the oldest of the Tillerman children and protagonist of the story, leads her three younger siblings on their journey. Though, at times, her siblings James, Maybeth, and Sammy do not
Homecoming is something that all ages can take part in, although high school students definitely enjoy it the most. The whole week is the highlight of the year, full of traditions and activities that keep all the students busy. One specific tradition that has gone on for as long as the history of homecoming is the football players handing out their jerseys to their girlfriends, homecoming dates, or just good friends. Many girls, especially upperclassmen girls, look forward to wearing jerseys. This
started talking. Homecoming was coming up and of course I wanted to take Tiffany to the dance and I was trying to figure out how to ask her to the dance. I asked a few of my friend, how could I ask Tiffany to the dance and she over hear me talking about it and told me that it was not a good idea to ask her to the dance. At first I was a little bit confused because she told me that it was not a good idea to ask her to the dance, but she told me that she would go with me. Homecoming week arrived and

that homecoming shouldn’t be abolished. Abolishing homecoming would be upsetting to students and former students. The reasons I feel this way is because homecoming could be so much fun, you also get to know more about your school and learning their traditions of the school. To begin with, homecoming could be fun for new students and former students. In homecoming week they do something called spirit week. In spirit they allow you to dress up and show your school spirit. They have a homecoming football

Death is a key theme in Gwen Harwood’s Barn owl, and Bruce Dawes Homecoming. Another theme present in Homecoming is mentality, which is also a major idea expressed in Gerald Stern’s I Remember Galileo.
