Meredith Bochnak Ms. Beck English 10 5 December 2022 The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway Although her body wasn’t found, Natalee Holloway was declared legally dead in 2012. For her Senior trip, Natalee Holloway, a Mountain Brook Teenager, went to Aruba, an island in the Caribbean. On the last night of the trip, she was last seen at a bar around closing time with 3 men, Joran Van Der Sloot, Satish Kalpoe, and Deepak Kalpoe. She never showed up for her flight home and when they went to her room, all of her stuff was packed and ready to leave. They set up a search party, but in 2012 she was declared legally dead. There has been speculation of what actually happened to her. Despite the theory that Holloway was killed by Joran Van Der Sloot, the most probable theory is that Van der Sloot is responsible for selling her to human trafficking. …show more content…

Van Susteren says that Joran told her that “he sold Natalee Holloway on a beach in Aruba the night she disappeared.” he was given a bag of cash and then “Joran says, he watched Natalee get pulled onto a boat with a stranger” (Van Susteren). Joran has involvement in this case. It is safe to say that since he was paid, he thoroughly worked hard to get rid of her. Joran starts to change his story: “He told us he had been lying during that interview and that he had not sold Natalee Holloway to a stranger. Joran says he made the story up” (Van Susteren). Because his story is all messed up, we can’t know for sure if he is telling the truth. He could be lying to us about selling her, or he could be lying to us about saying that he lied about selling her. While Van Der Sloot selling her seems like the most probable theory, the evidence still doesn’t add
