It was believed that the government had to be involved to promote everyday wellness of individuals, and the country as a whole. I believe that the effect of this is still in place in today's America. Voting rights and equality for everyone has always been a huge problem and concern for the United States. Although many minorities including African Americans and women made tremendous improvements during the progressive era, I still think that the United States struggles with equality for everyone in today's society. Lastly, business regulation from the progressive era and business regulation from today's society are very similar. Most business behaviors and rules are the same today as they were during the progressive

The Progressive Era took place in 1890 to 1920. The Progressive Era started as a social movement and started to grow into a political movement. They also did not believe in social Darwinism. The progressive era was a period in time where citizens came together to fight for different, social and political reforms throughout the country. There were unsafe working conditions for children, women, and men, there were powerful businesses that ran the economy, and more. Reformers wrote about corrupt businesses and working environments to try and get better laws as an outcome. Progressive era reformers were effective in shaping the mandates that were being created by the government. The different social, political, and economic reforms that took place shaped the government and the new laws that were created, improving the lives of all.
During the last 1800s, there were many issues about the poor work conditions people were in. Which was one of the reasons why progressive era started. The Progressive Era The four themes exhibiting the Progressives were: Prohibition, women’s Suffrage, literal recognition of democracy through improved citizen participation in politics by exposing “political machines.”, and technological innovation/scientific inquiry. This was controversial because they believed in reforming capitalism so the extremely wealthy and politically influent constituency in America didn’t have as much power over the American public. This put them at extreme odds with corporate heads and political powers. However there are four very important amendments passed into law that were consider successful gains during the progressive era.
The Progressive Movement was a significant period in American history from 1890 to 1920, which saw a wide range of political, social, and economic changes in the country. The Industrial Revolution had an impact on the progressive movement. It created a more open and responsible government that would strive to advance American society. The Progressive era was a time for change and improvement, but the reforms didn’t come as easily as expected. The Progressive era’s goal was to spread social activism and political reform to eliminate corruption and injustices. Many people fought for rights and better work environments but were pushed aside for a while. Some reforms were put on hold because of convenience, it was easier for people to continue what they were doing rather than make a change for the better of society. Those in bad situations tried to do something about it and when they finally had the courage to speak up to protect themselves they were shut down.
During the progressive era our country faced many problems. The rise of substantial businesses caused industrial problems. Women suffrage, alcohol, child labor, and safety issues caused social problems. The necessitation of citizens in government decisions also caused political problems. Progressives were people who wanted to solve all of these quandaries.

The progressive era was not a single movement, but rather a collection of movements all of which were intended to improve the lives of Americans. This was a truly remarkable time for women and the end of the era would see almost universal women’s suffrage with the passing of the nineteenth amendment in 1920.
