The accused, Jamie Rogers caused the death of Nik Pasternak, and thereby did commit manslaughter, the injuries from the assault did result in the death of Nik Pasternak. Nik Pasternak was a 25 year old male who had passed away on October 28, 2017 due to manslaughter. Jamie Rogers had refused to testify in court, but Jamie and Nik Pasternak were childhood friends as stated by Devon Moore. Jamie Rogers had recently been fired by his former boss and best friend Nik Pasternak due to his work ethic. Jamie's condition had been described as troublesome at home by Mr. Devon Moore. Casey and Devon had also identified the sweater that Jamie had been wearing when she saw the two. The sweater had been easy to identify since he was the only one wearing a yellow outfit that night. His shoes and his pants were found at the residence and had been entered as exhibits for evidence. There had also been blood on all the clothing that belonged to Pasternak. The back area where they were spotted had been a place only regulars knew about, both Nik and Jamie were regulars which also concludes they were both there. Devon Moore had also spoke about the two not being in the best position when he had an encounter with Nik at the bar. Nik had fired Jamie the night of the crime was committed and Jamie had also mouthed off at another customer, showing signs of aggression. If Jamie didn’t comply with the officers, they would have suspicion and they had a warrant; they would search the house with or without Jamie's consent. The defense had also argued that they find Lou Vaquero guilty, but there is no evidence. Lou Vaquero hadn’t been a suspect, he hadn’t been investigated for any bruises or evidence. When Casey Yanagita saw him, she didn’t state whether his clothing had blood or not. Blood on his clothing would catch the eye. The only clothing on the crime scene had belonged to Jamie, his yellow cloth from his sweater had been all over the crime scene. The detective, Mattie Gunderson had stated that all the evidence did lead to the investigation of Jamie Rogers, which is why the accused had been charged. The defence had also argued that Devon Moore didn’t think that Jamie was the murder which is an opinionated statement. There is no hard evidence that Jamie isn’t guilty, the evidence all points to Jamie Rogers.
