Serial Killer: Jeffrey Dahmer

Childhood

Jeffery Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dahmer’s mother, Joyce, is known to have had a difficult pregnancy with Dahmer (Casey).Dahmer lived in a home with his mother, Joyce, and his father, Lionel Dahmer. At home, Dahmer was seen as a normal child, bright, enthusiastic, and bubbly. His teachers at the elementary level said otherwise. Some teachers wondered if Dahmer was neglected at home because of his actions in school. At around the age of six, Dahmer was given a brother named David. Dahmer and his family eventually settled in Bath, Ohio (Sulivan). After his brother's birth Dahmer went into surgery to fix two hernias,

Lionel, his father, made Dahmer enlist in the army after the dropout. After December of 1978, Dahmer was stationed in Germany. He was later discharged in 1981. After his case was discovered and all his murders were uncovered, German authorities tried to connect murders from his deployment to murders that had taken place in the area while he was there (Jeffery Dahmer). After being discharged, his father sent Dahmer to live with his grandparents in Wisconsin, where his alcoholism continued. While living here, he was involved with law enforcement three times. Once for disorderly conduct, indecency, and one last time for masturbating infront of young boys. He was only given a year of probation after the incident with the young boys (Jeffery Dahmer). Studies after Dahmer's case showed that his household could have contained neglect. His way of murder was related back to how he was treated as a child, and the way his childhood was seen. He was a killer that used sexual and very harsh ways. He was most known for his mutilation and cannibalism. Not only was he a serial killer and used horrific ways, he also was known for the murders of all bisexual or gay males. All his victims were of the male gender and tended to be bisexual
