This helps the U.S. to get out of the Great Depression which mobilized the economy, created many jobs, and many citizens started earning money. The USA also forced many Japanese-Americans to go to internment camps due to fear of being a spy or helping the Japanese invade the USA. Their production grew and North Africa was the first place the U.S. will send troops. Two sides fought in the war: the Pacific and the East.(1) In the Pacific mostly the U.S. and Japan fought and it was the first time both sides fought in naval battle.(5) In the Pacific Ocean, ships and planes were mostly fought and as both sides were fighting each other there was no progress as neither side was able to push toward. On June 4, 1942, The Battle of Midway was the turning point in the Pacific in which the U.S. broke the Japanese naval code and ambushed the Japanese fleet.The U.S. pushed back the Japanese and reached Guadalcanal which was the first land battle between the U.S. and Japan.
