One freezing February Saturday, I needed wake up at six in the morning to go play in a volleyball tournament. The rest of my family was in Arizona and had left me in Iowa Falls, so I wouldn 't miss my finishing tournament of the season. I wasn 't jubilant about it, but I agreed anyway. My grandma drove me up to Dike New Hartford High School. There were 10 other teams from all around Iowa. I showed up barely on time and exhausted. It was a very long day, but ten games later and we ended it winning second place. I drove home with my friend and teammate, Emma Olberding. We drove back to my house and stayed there for the rest of the day. It all started with an insane idea to go outside in the 20 degree weather. I have a
In December, my family and I went skiing in Colorado. We like to go see our family, and participate in winter sports. Our two favorite sports are tubing and skiing. When we arrived at Colorado there were ten inches of snow on the ground. We had a choice to go back to my grandparent’s house or go tubing and then go back.
Where Berent, Cael, Trevor, Xavier, and I drove up to play for the state cup. The rest of the team was with their parents but we decided to carpool to save money. We were all joking around until we figured out that we were going to play the older tempo team, Tempo Blaze. At first, we thought that this would be a sweep, that we would win the whole tournament without worrying, but know we have to play the team that has never lost this year and we have never beaten for as
The balloons are out, the flowers are in bloom, I smell summer. I smell a summer like no other. Not because the groundhog came out early this year, or because I was one year older, but because I was a graduate, from Gilkey International middle school (finally). Sophie comes up to me yelling, super excited for the night ahead, graduation. As we rehearse our ceremony, in our high inched heels and dainty fake eyelashes Charlie runs up behind us screaming in our ear jumping us out of our own skin.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Chino Hills High School was out of power, resulting all the students got released early. I walked into the school campus about to sit at the normal table that I wait at. I usually get to school thirty minutes early because of traffic. I did notice something was off when I sat down. The area where I sat was a bit darker than usual.
I attended Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head MD which is in Charles County MD I attended Lackey High School my ninth and both my tenth grade years around the beginning of 2016. My last month in Lackey High School was in February, before I left Cousin Jerry and the PPW from my high school told me about Job Corps. I couldn’t stay at Lackey because of the drama going on and my cousin knew Job Corps could provide me with a high school diploma and provide direction for my life. At Lackey High School I was constantly in trouble arguing, being defiant about the rules, and not attending class.
When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters coming through high school before me.
I was lost. Friends were not at my disposal. Time was in abundance. Thoughts was all i had. Freshman through Christmas break of my sophomore year I attended Berks Catholic High School, but before that I graduated from a feeder school named Scared Heart School.
It was a hot, summer day when there was the biggest and most important softball game of the year. It took place in Moville, Iowa. This softball game determined whether we go to Des Moines to play for state or not. We were getting ready for the game, up at the field, right next to Co-Op, the swimming pool, and the city park right on the highway.
I am white female and raised in the early 80’s, I went to Longwood High school and as most of us know it’s a very diverse school district. A lot of the teenager’s romantic relationship were interracial and it was pretty much expected. Other students wouldn’t think much of it because it was so common. The older generations (grandparent and parents) disliked the whole interracial couple thing because they are stuck in living the old school lifestyle which whites and blacks date/marry their own ethical race. For the most part our society is still stuck in this mind frame to this day.
Last year I moved from Guttenberg to Manchester, which moved me from Clayton Ridge to West Delaware High School. The whole move was a speedy process. Before we moved I only knew 3 people that attended West Delaware and out of those people, none of them are my age. I was upset with my parents for putting me in the position of leaving all my friends that I had finally gotten used to, to move somewhere where I didn’t know anybody. A rush of emotions were coming onto me; fear of losing friends, anger and resentment towards my family for not telling me until they had already bought the house, but also excitement because I would be starting all over again and meeting new people.
It was an early Saturday morning in October, when the Panther girls softball team were playing for a third straight win. The two games before that flew by easily, we won both and were playing to be seeded first in the tournaments the next day. The crowd was full of excitement, parents yelling, and the coach yelling at the umpires, because of bad calls. We were nervous because it was a really good team that had 3 of the best players in the state. We had played them in two previous tournaments, and lost on the second day, so this time we were determined to beat them.
The Day We Play Iowa Fallst have you ever played basketball in your lifetime. Well i'm going to tell a story about basketball when we beat IOWA FALLS. The HAMPTON BULLDOGS played IOWA FALLS it was exciting
I am 17 years old and a senior this year at Cary-Grove High School. I live in Cary and have lived here all my life. School is a very important aspect of my life and I continue to challenge myself every day in order to give myself a chance at receiving a quality education. Some of my favorite hobbies include listening to music on Spotify and watching some of my favorite movies. When I am not listening to music of watching movies, I am most likely at some extracurricular activity.
It was a cold, dark, snowy, average Michigan morning. Wham! My bedroom door opened and my mom told me it was time to get up for school. I was hoping that we would have had a snow day with all of the snow that accumulated during the night, but we didn 't because Jenison never closes school for snow. It was such a struggle to even get out of bed!
Most Stressful Game ever Played It was the day we had to play West Kent Hawks in State Playoffs for our seeding. We had lost to West Kent twice with our full roster and now we lost two of our good players, the odds weren’t good. We just beat Grand Rapids Christian on Friday and Rockford and Battle Creek Gold the day before. We were tied with West Kent, whoever won this game is going to the finals.
