How important is to obtain an education? Now a day most people think that getting an education it is not as important as having work experience. From personal experience, I believe that although having work experience is important, but it is more important to be educated and have knowledge to back up your work. Today’s market is very competitive, having an education will give you advantage and will make you stand out from other candidates. When selecting a career there are many elements to take in consideration. As a student make sure to select a career that you really enjoy and have a passion for. Take in mind that this career path you choose to take will eventually become your source of income. Who wants to work in a job that they do not like for the rest of their lives? Not me. This is the number one reason why I choose films and production as my career, because I really enjoy and it is definitely something I am extremely eager about. Back when I was 25 years old I had the opportunity and privilege to work in a Television channel in my home town in the Dominican Republic. I worked directly with Mr. Victor Valerio, the production manager of the channel. Mr. Valerio definitely influenced me in choosing this career, through him I learned many things and discovered that production is something I am …show more content…
Big part of those changes come from the film and television directors, they are always using new trends for production. Every three or four years the classic or convectional television changes. We can see the classic television has changed and will continue to change throughout the years. I have to be prepared for those changes, in order for me to be the first or one of the first to implement these new structures in Television production. As of right now I am not working in this area, but I will like the opportunity to work in American film and or Television
I believe in people. It is this belief that drives my courage and confidence in a world of cynicism and doubt. I know that ultimately, humans strive for belonging and community; thus, while loneliness and anger may always be in existence, so will togetherness and bliss. In this small nation of mine, people speak at least two languages and in addition to the English language, I have experienced the beauty of the Malay traditional tales, Chinese dragons, and Indian cuisines through years of golden rich and poor multiracial friends, stories, and cultural events, ranging from the Islamic Eid Al-Fitr to the graceful moves of Bollywood dances.
My interest in a counseling related profession and helping others spawned as a result of a lifetime of learning and curiosity; namely, mindfully molding my thoughts, actions, and habits into a perpetual pattern of unconscious and unpremeditated altruistic behavior. Furthermore, I have always aspired to determine the roots of all my emotions and master the behaviors of a trustworthy, loyal, courteous, and kind individual. Every day should begin with the thought, “What can I, as an individual or collaboratively with others, accomplish to relieve part of the shared and total human suffering of this world?” If such a mantra was revered by the collective consciousness of the human race, misery and suffering would be sharply reduced, if not eliminated
“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure,” cautions Paulo Coelho in The Alchemist. Everyone has dreams but not everyone dares to make them come true. One of my dreams is I want to study abroad and experience other cultures. Applying KGSP scholarship is my first step to achieve my dream. In my quest for a suitable graduate program, I was thrilled to learn that Food and Nutrition Department at Yonsei University offers a graduate curriculum that match my need.
At the age of ten being raised by minority parents was very difficult for me at the time. At the age of ten I was forced for my English and Spanish vocabulary to be very proficient due to always translating for my parents. At that age learning both languages was annoying, frustrating, and difficult; however that experience shaped me to be a proficient bilingual nurse present and gain benefits by being bilingual. The benefits where the many open job opportunities with the increase pay. This experience also assisted to raise my daughter to speak and write both languages actively although just not the way my parents forced it on me.
As a fifteen year old, I never thought I would be thinking about college so early, what irony! I stood a little surprised when my teacher gave me a paper which said I earned the opportunity to go to college early. I actually did not know that was possible; I decided to learn a little bit more about the program, Puma College Connection Program. After learning a little more about the program I knew I needed to take advantage of the opportunity. I talked to my parents and they both agreed, so I feel encouraged and hopeful for my future.
Creating a personal and motivational drive to succeed is an essential aspect of my life. Being actively involved in high school has lead me to this drive. Through these experiences in high school, I am more than capable to succeed in college. At North Fort Myers High School, the fulfillment of experiences has lead me to attending the University of South Florida starting in 2017. Nursing has become not only a passion, but a future career.
In Adams’ quote, he reasons that there are two ideas of an education, one that gives skills and resources to get a job, and another that teaches individuals how to live a fulfilling a life. To me, this quote represents two corresponding outlooks on my own education. I believe that in order to be happy and successful it is important to take these two educations and maximize their potential. In order to learn to make a living you must take advantage of all opportunities in a class, internship, or extracurricular activity. Another major component of learning how to make a living is through networking, where students make social connections with other professionals enrich their present or future careers.
Education has always been indubitably important to me. Unlike my other classmates, I enjoyed going to school every day throughout grade school. I have always focused hard on my schoolwork, so that I can do my best.
I perceive a godparent as a person in one’s life who is either chosen by the catechumen or by the parents of the catechumen. This person will, upon acceptance, have to fulfill the responsibility of being an active, practicing Catholic who ensures the fulfillment of the Baptismal vows, to assist their godchild in living a Christian life, and, if needed, to carry out the role of a parent when either the parents neglect to do their job or die. In order to become a sponsor, there are mandatory prerequisites to be accomplished which include age, participation, reception of the Sacraments of Initiation, and overall lifestyle. Sponsors shall be chosen if they fit the roles of a trustworthy witness who can help guide one to eternal salvation.
True happiness comes from helping others. Life tests resilience, commitment and dedication as we strive to reach our goal. One of my goals is helping people as I pursue my aim in life. I strongly believe in the significance of volunteering and helping others. Upon my move to the US, being in an unfamiliar area and culture, I had a hard time figuring out how or where to offer my assistance.
Being educated in an interactive setting helped me overcome my biggest struggle: anxiety. With the constant fear of being judged, I restricted myself from asking questions and being active in the classroom. Because of this, I spoke with my teacher about a possible solutions. In the end, my teacher suggested writing in a journal. Every night, I wrote down a goal in which I would accomplish the following day in class.
Sport in itself is fun, healthy and rewarding. Although this is my personal view, it is more than likely shared with many more people around the world. I have always had a passion for sport, I was always a very active child and have been into competitive sport for years. My first experience in sports was joining a local martial arts club that taught Tae Kwon Do. I took part in Tae Kwon Do since i was four, I continued to progress and when I turned 11 I gained my black belt, this was my first insight into sports and fuelled my passion and enthusiasm to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In my life, I have made a life long commitment to being involved in swimming. I have been in swim team, Junior Lifeguard, and water polo. Through swimming, I have shaped my character and the person I am today. Without being able to swim, I wouldn’t be as disciplined, determined, and committed as I am today. Through my characteristics of being committed and dedicated, I am more than prepared for college.
Pursuing a higher education has always been my top priority, and I believe that University of Washington Bothell would help me achieve my aspirations. UW Bothell would not only allow me to expand my knowledge on critical thinking and literacy, but also become an empowering leader giving me the necessary skills to give back to my community and country. Growing up, I imagined myself becoming a nurse or a doctor, but that recently changed after reassessing my goals and passions. Making a difference in a person’s life has always been my goal, but instead of making a difference in those who are sick in the hospital, I find myself wanting to make a difference in those who are going through poverty, abuse, foster care, and many other life debilitating
It’s always the same after every introduction and a little history lesson about the Christianity of India. The all too familiar question “ Since you’re parents are both pastors, will you become a pastor too?” If I can count there may be around 3,000 times people asked whether I would become a pastor since I will be fourth generation women on my mother’s side that go to seminary. It still confuses me every time why everyone thought I would become a pastor like my parents. Indeed, I come from a long lineage of pastors and missionaries from both of my parent’s families, however, I always felt it is a calling that was more sacred and meaningful rather than carrying on the family name.
