The USPS or United States Postal Service has been serving the citizens of the Unites States for many years. For the past decade, people have been switching from the mailing system provided by the USPS to the electronic mailing system; “The Postal Service experienced a 13 percent drop in mail volume last fiscal year, more than double any previous decline …” (O’Keefe). The United States Postal Service should be restructured to meet the needs of the changing world because of the serious drop in mail since the recession that is feared to never return to its previous levels.
The United States Postal Service should restructure to include new era technological advancements as to revolutionize to the modern era and regain consumer use. People have

Their increase of service days will give their customers more faith in the USPS mailing system; “It seems counterintuitive to add service when you’re losing money, but people have less faith in the system precisely because of spotty service.” (Stone) If they USPS were to increase their service delivery to all week, it will give people more faith that their mail will get to where it needs to go on time. People will also start using the United States Postal Service because it will be the first mailing system to be delivering all week which will put them above their competitors; “Considering tightening hours, but the USPS could be the first carrier to reliably deliver all week.” …show more content…
In many major cities across the US, the USPS has a post office every few blocks.“You don’t need a full-service post office every few blocks in New York…” (Stone). This is extremely harmful to the united states postal services income, since it has to pay employees a each location. Removing the number of these locations per city and operating costs at each branch, when it could easily have less branches per city and save drastically. The money put into each of these branches could easily be redirected to upgrading the USPS. Branches should be limited to a handful in major metropolitan areas and 1 in small, rural areas. It is in the best interest of the company that “Potter also wants to close and consolidate 154 post offices.” (Cullen). By closing these branches the USPS could save money that it needs to restructure and meet the demands of the modern world.
Some people have the old fashioned belief that the post office should remain the way it is currently and not restructure. These people enjoy the traditional post office, where parcels and letters can be sent and received traditionally. But, the USPS system that they are using now is failing and that it is just going to get worse. The citizens of the United States of America needs to get a new system and restructure the USPS before it crashes and burns completely. Thus, leaving no governmental mailing service left for the people to
Even with all the hard work, the service would still decline. In the letter "Server Wages Cannot Be Increased," it says that customers would also have longer waits and more errors would be made. For example, it says that most employees would be laid off so they wouldn't have enough working and those other servers still working will have to work way
The Articles of Confederation structured the first government of the thirteen states. The thirteen states included: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. However, Rhode Island did not vote to revise the Articles right away. Therefore, the proposals of the Constitution continued to be declined by the other states due to not having a balance on votes. When Rhode Island finally sent a representative to the Constitution Convention, the Constitution was approved.
The Unabombers Resolve and Outcomes The U.S postal system has been around since 1775, and it seems to be an effective and fast way to deliver packages and mail nationwide. People never think about opening their mail because they assume that it is safe to open and we seem to open it mindlessly and without thought. Yet in 1978, Theodore Kaczynski changed this, because of his education and his belief that technology would ruin the world, committed one of the most heinous acts of terror in history and he used the postal system to do it. Historical Context and Life
As a Patriot, I believe that Britain is a very cruel country that is ruining our lives. With the high taxes and the harsh laws, they are just taking our money and our ability to live our lives on our own, without any force from anyone else. I want my fellow colonists to live a life without pain and suffering. I would like them to live a free life, not a life controlled by the British. Would you like to life a life where you are forced to pay high taxes to a king who is abusing power?
5.1. Describe the types of mail services used in business organisations • Post Office Services – The post office service such as Royal Mail will often deliver and collection an organisations post, saving time and effort from staff having to take this to a collection point. Usually, this will be collected if the organisation has its own franking machine to prepare all out-going mail with the correct postage paid on it. • Couriers – These are used for more bulky packages, which are required in urgent matters but is often more expense than using Royal Mail services for example. • Overseas
While the United States proclaimed itself as a neutral country in the beginning of the devastating first World War, many disagree with the statement that America wanted to remain neutral for various reasons. World War I began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, then quickly escalated to division into two sides between European countries; including the Allied Powers, which consisted of Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the Central Powers that included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. Since the United States made it obvious they favored the Allied Powers before they entered World War I, the other countries against these nations took this friendliness between the countries and America as a threat and interference of war. This resulted in the Central Powers noticing an unfair disadvantage for themselves.
It is also very important that the mailing service used is efficient and convenient, using the franking machine is convenient for the post team, therefore this is how letters are sent from Parking and Traffic Control department. When sending internationally it is important to take the price into consideration as the price can often change depending on the weight of the parcel and how far it is going, As Traffic and Parking Control do not send packages this is not something I have had to do, however I would assume that price would be a determining factor for the departments who do send parcels when choosing a courier company, in addition to this the value of the parcel or letter must be accounted for and therefore choosing a courier service that offers a form of insurance might be an important
USPS (United States Postal Service) is a mail and shipping company that is authorized by the U.S. Government to perform postal services in public interest, as well as commercial postal activities to meet personal and business mailing needs of U.S. citizens and support its work. The FCC is a government agency that regulates the radio, television and phone industries. The Federal Communication Commission regulates interstate communication for instance wire, satellite and cable, and international communication. The FCC originated from The Communication Act of 1934, which abolished the Federal radio commission. The Communication Act of 1934 was the barrier for all the communications rules in place today. This act expanded on the authority of the FCC to regulate public airwaves in the United Stated.
The Articles of Confederation was structured to give the majority power to the States while limiting the involvement of Government. The federal government was bestowed with the responsibility of mutual defense for the states and to “secure the blessings of liberty.” Government was supposed to be able to pass acts, however, each state was only permitted one representative regardless of that state’s population and votes needed to be unanimous for an act to pass. The power of the central government was vague and nearly unenforceable. Without a judicial system the federal government was unable to enforce penalties or consequences and without the ability to collect tax they could not finance the government meetings let alone the military to defend
Boom! The door slams down, agents are rushing in the room yelling “put your hands up”! The suspect yells “don’t shoot” and drops his gun onto the floor. Today being a federal agent is very dangerous. Just think at what you see on the news about federal agents.
If this question was raised twenty, even twenty-five years ago, the obvious answer would be no, as using the postal service was one of the best forms of communication. However, in this age surrounded by bigger and better forms of communication than the postal service, would we still need a rule like the postal rule? This brings several questions such as: would it be better if we didn’t have the postal rule? What would change if we rid of the postal rule? What wouldn’t change?
Amazon has achieved many milestones from starting in the founder’s garage in 1994 to the growth in revenue to US$147.8 million in 1997 and then to the revenue growth of US$177.866 billion in 2017 (Amazon, 2018a, Amazon, 2018b and Jurevicius, 2018). These milestones were achieved through tenacious focused strategies of meeting their customers’ needs and wants. These strategies have maintained and expanded their customer base locally and internationally and have increased its market shares and profit over the last two decades. In addition, projection for the company’s growth and expansion for the next three to five years looks positive as it predicted to grow at the same rate with its expansion internationally and continued focused in satisfying consumers’ wants (Amazon, 2018a). Although, some factors such as governmental policies, legal issues and natural disasters could pose a threat to Amazon’s growth plans, the management team led by the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are working on mitigating the risk (Amazon, 2018a).
