What Freedom Means to Me There are people all over America who don’t understand or value the freedoms that our ancestors and founding fathers fought to protect. The definition of freedom is, “The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” While this is true, freedom also is at the heart of every humans happiness. I am lucky. Freedom is the only type of life I have ever experienced. It is terrible that many people who live in America today take their freedom for granted. We should not only cherish our freedoms and rights, but we should protect them. Our war veterans fought not only for our country, but also for our liberty. The first time I ever experienced freedom was when I came to America. Sometimes freedom ain 't really for all, you still have to follow all rules, and obey your parents. The word *Freedom* means to me is that you may have the right to do what you think is right, and you don’t really have to be one of those people out there that have no right. Even if you don’t have any right you can always dream, and experienced from the people around you, and your friends. When people always tell me what’s right, or wrong, that annoys me.

Freedom is what I think of as to do as you please. Being able to eat or drink without having to fight for it. Being able to own a home without someone coming in there and dictating me. Being able to get an education.
To me freedom means being able to wake up and feel safe. Freedom is being able to speak or act and not feel restricted. I am grateful for the freedom I have but I am also a little concerned. To me freedom is something you should honor and cherish. I do realize that what freedom means to me and what freedom can mean to someone else can be very different.

In our young and privileged nation, freedom is the essential factor influencing the action and principles by which our nation thrives and continues to flourish throughout history. Subsequent to the creation of the United States, the delegates of our nation have successfully developed and maintained the peace and prosperity that is America thanks to the foundational principle of freedom. I believe the meaning of freedom is the privilege of enjoying the unalienable rights and liberties given to all under the protection of the United States Constitution.
As an American I have many freedoms, and they’re wonderful. Freedom is incredible, amazing, marvelous, but it is also fragile. Freedom is delicate, it can be broken, it can be taken away in a second. Yet, we take freedom for granted. We live in a country where we can say what we want and worship freely without getting punished.
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” This is the way famous author Charlotte Bronte described freedom in one of her classical books Jane Eyre. Freedom is independence, creativity, and doing what you love. Freedom is breaking away from the net that ensnares you and keeps you away from achieving greatness. By having freedom Americans have earned several rights: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press, freedom of religion, the freedom to dress how you choose and to not be judged for it, and the right to bear arms.

What is freedom mean to me? Each moment of everyday, of every year, I am free to think, do, and say what I want. Freedom is something I truly value in my everyday, for it is the reason these Freedom is my power to express myself.
Never in my life have I been asked this question but after reading the first week’s lectures, it is becoming clear to me. Liberty means I am not a slave, I am free. Liberty means I can make my own decisions, express my points of view, beliefs and opinion. My definition of slavery is simply put as: personal property or belonging to someone else. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
