Fossil fuels have been around for a pretty long time now. And they're origin story goes back millions of years ago to when the dinosaurs were still around. The living organisms would die and their dead corps would end up being covered by dirt/sand. The corps didn't have enough time to decompose due to all the dirt and sand building on each other. And while all the layers kept building on each other one can only imagine the amount of pressure that was placed on the organisms dead bodies, but thanks to the pressure that was placed on the organisms bodies it helped contain the energy the bodies still had thus creating fossil fuels. But now that we humans have found out all these uses for fossil fuels and overuse and rely on it day in and day …show more content…
Acid rain can lead to destruction of monuments made up of brickwork or marbles. Even crops can affected due to acidification of loams.” This piece of evidence will be very useful to my argument due to the fact that’ll help me explain my reasoning on how fossil fuels are bad for our environment by producing sulphur dioxide which causes more acid rain thus affecting crops and destroying monuments created by brickwork and or …show more content…
This is because, these are very easily available. They have a vast presence over the globe.” & “fossil fuels have pretty low cost” with these two being said we can see how fossil fuels happen to be so great, and just why would anyone want to go against a natural source of energy that is easily obtainable and cheap you may ask. Well the answer to that is simple, the people that decide to go aginst fossil fuels are those that are trying to preserve out environment. Fossil fuels are harmful not just to ou environment but also to any organism. Certain places in the world have decided to stop usng fossil fuels and began to use alternative renewable energies these countries that decided to go in this direction of using clean renewable energy may hav not stopped using fossil fuels over night but surely every good thing takes time. If we would like to conserve the well being of our planet a clean narual renewable energy is reuierd to keep our planet in good
This argument is supported by a list of examples showing the negative effects of the fossil fuel burned for oil demand. For example, “sea level rise, global temperature, and ocean acidification” (Hart, 26). This list of information is cited from NASA, and Hart invites the reader to further look at NASA’s research. This shows he gets his information from a government funded research base, and provides further information for the reader. He then further discusses the affect burning fossil fuel has on global warming.
The world is in need of fossil fuels. Without them, we would not have cars, airplanes, and not to mention enough energy. A lot of energy is produced from them. They are a very big support. Unfortunately, they are running out.
Unfortunately, fossil fuel is the primary cause of pollution. Pollution caused by fossil fuel, causes acid rain and global warming. Global warming affects humans and animals as well with the climate changes due to the burning of fossil fuels. In contrast to fossil fuels, solar energy is
Fossil Fuels have been used as a fuel since the start of the Industrial Revolution. In 1790 the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increased because of this. These gases will remain there for over hundreds of years. I will take centuries for the natural processes to bring down the levels of the green house gases to a normal level. Because of this their warming influence will remain on our Earth for the coming Century
Fossil fuels are highly effective sources of energy because they are rich in hydrocarbons. When fossil fuels are burned for energy it is a major cause of pollution. When fossil fuels are burned, they pollute our air with chemicals like carbon dioxide. When they are released, carbon dioxide traps dust and heat in our atmosphere, which is a part of global warming. Geologists are hard at work trying to find new sources of fossil fuels.
Teacher: Because not too long ago, the world was driven by fossil fuels. They were great sources of energy. Unfortunately, they were also deplete-able as most jewels. Fuels involve the breaking down of chemical bonds, a process which requires energy. This type of chemical reaction is an endothermic (Where energy is absorbed).
It is predicted that in this century we will deplete all of our fossil fuels, which we heavily rely on today. One of the main reasons that people are not acting on creating more green energy is that they simply do not have a clear understanding of the effects of using nonrenewable resources. Many schools don't teach about anything in the area of climate change, fossil fuels or the ways that the world is changing because of them. Many people also don’t know that we are running out of these resources, and extremely
One reason is fracking increases the risk that groundwater can be polluted. This creates a problem due to the fact that the clean groundwater has more important uses than being polluted to extract shale gas. With methane emissions, environmentalists doubt that shale gas is a better alternative to harmful fossil fuels. Another argument presented by the environmentalists is that the fossil fuel industry is declining; investing in a company that will not succeed is pointless. They think that shale fracking is not going to be very successful because the industry is moving towards renewable energy
There is a quote by President Barack Obama saying, “To truly transform our economy, protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy,” (“151 Inspiring Environmental Quotes”). He believes as many due that nonrenewable resources are harmful to all aspects of life. The energy we use now is harmful to our planet, to humans, and to animals. Scientists are taking steps to making the world a better place. They found sources that replenished naturally in a short amount of time and are less destructive in all aspects.
It is commonly known throughout human history that the energy used is burned from coal which creates biomass. During the Industrial Revolution, coal was an essential need to everyone, hence the discovery of oil as a substitute. Yet, the mass formation from the unearthing of oil causes more damage than benefits for the planet. Humanity had never seen a more compatible source in which came a higher demand for oil. As the public has urged to generate more oil, scientists theorized that fossil fuels will eventually run out, making way for a renewable energy route in the future (Mason).
Fossil fuels Fossil fuels are NOT a renewable energy resource it will finish up one day As once we 've burned them all, there isn 't any more, and our consumption of fossil fuels has nearly doubled every 20 years since 1900. This is a particular problem for Oil, because we also use it to make plastics and many other products Coal, Oil and Gas are called "fossil fuels" because they have been formed from the fossilized remains of prehistoric plants and animals.
Natural gas and propane are considered the safest fossil fuels. Propane is considered the safest fossil fuel because natural gas is considered a greenhouse gas. Some pros to using propane is it will make little to no greenhouse gases. The glaciers in the North and South Pole will stop melting and polar bears
Some people call it acid deposition because they say it is a more precise name due to the fact that acid rain isn’t only rain, it can fall as rain, snow, sleet, hail and anything else. Acid rain has been formed because as we release harmful gases into the atmosphere, we are lowering the pH of precipitation, creating acid rain. Acid rain can kill small organisms such as trees and fish which destroys ecosystems. Although acid rain is not known to affect humans immensely, it can however, cause health issues usually lung
Instead of burning fossil fuels that will be depleted within short generation, alternative energies such as the wind turbine or solar panels needs to be implemented to sustain and care for the resources that remain. The concept of reducing our Carbon footprint in the world is the more modern way of looking at sustainable living, in which the World realises humans have not used resources wisely. By looking at the changes over the past centuries, an International network of scientists have unanimously concluded that human society is altering natural functions in three fundamental ways. And consequently, they were able to define four basic conditions that must be met if we want to maintain the environmental services that sustain human society.
this damage will have devastating consequences for future human generations all other life of earth yet we continue to use fossil fuels. This is for a few reasons, firstly we are so reliant of them that it will be impossible to completely change to renewables overnight . fossil fuels are still the cheapest form of energy available so why would individual people and business chose otherwise to put money into renewable research,, well governments around world have realised the danger of global warming and they know an overnight switch is impossible so the have implemented taxes on fossil fuels and inefficient use of them and put this money into renewable energy research, also provided grants and tax breaks for people and business that are switching to renewables. these actions will slowly make renewable energy more cost effective and appealing to everyone and will move the world away from fossil fuels and towards renewable green energy sources. Similarly with stem cell research i think the potential medical benefits of mastering stem cell therapies is just too big.
