He was broke and had no money. The whole reason he was travelling to DC to meet Madison was to collect his debt money. The gun used to kill him was an expensive gun that a man in debt could not afford, so explain to me why a man in debt, would use two expensive guns to kill himself before collecting his money? It doesn’t add up. In the video we watched most of the evidence we received led us to think Lewis’ death was murder not suicide. Although it was very common for inns to kill and rob their guests, but there were many people who would’ve had motive to kill Lewis. He had made enemies because of his important placement in office, some of these enemies included James Wilkinson. The Lewis and Wilkinson rivalry was known to be bitter. Lewis had rejected Wilkinsons invitation to establish western territories. Jefferson had chosen Lewis over Wilkinson many times without Wilkinsons consent. Wilkinson had a reputation of being an assassin, just think about that for a second. Another suspect is James Neely. James Neely said he was at grinders stand and found Lewis dead but he had lied. He was not where he said he was at the time because he was actually in court being put on trial. Another bit of information from this video ruling out suicide is that the letter that claims Lewis committed suicide was forged. So we have two prime suspects and a forged
•“She was not even listening. She had gotten tired of listening. She knew, as we all knew, what the outcome would be. A white man had been killed during a robbery, and thought two of the robbers had been killed on the spot, one had been captured, and he, too, would have to die” (4). This quote is important because it allows me to understand that Jefferson has to die because he was the only person in the liquor store and was a black man.

The Cherokee Removal The Americans of European ancestry often have described Native Americans as primitive, savage, and even and uncivilized. In this this paper I will provide primary evidence that supports what the Americans believed about the Natives, along with their few false accusations. I will also discuss how the Cherokee removal affected the natives during their journey along with afterwards. Before the removal was enforced, an upper class Cherokee, son of a warrior, John Ridge gave details on the Cherokee nation and how they are changing their lifestyles because of Americans.

In Ernest Gaines’ novel, A Lesson Before Dying, the author uses a third person point of view to assess the issue of racial injustice in the South during the 1940’s. Grant understands that justice is evaluated unfairly and knows that it does not favor the poor and uneducated black man. Due to Grant’s ability to be able to understand others, he successfully learns how to bring justice, while assisting Jefferson. This presents the audience the significance of the novel as a whole, embracing responsibility and facing injustice. Grant feels as if he shouldn’t feel obligated or pressured to help bring justice to Jefferson.
