The progressive era was very important because it helped America be better by allowing equal rights, treating people better, and making everyone a better person. First of all, the progressive era was important in America's history because it helped America become a better country. Consumption was one bad thing during that time period because people were spending too much money on alcohol and it was very bad for their health. Citizens also noticed that kids and workers were being worked more than usual in harsh environments. This was eventually changed so that people would work less and in better conditions.
