The European expansion into the Western Hemisphere in the 15th and 16th centuries was a great advance for human civilization. Three reasons this was a great advancement of the human race is that it gave us an opportunity for a new economy, politics and civil rights. This is important because the government of the United States is one of a kind because it allows such freedoms as women’s rights, freedom of the press and freedom of speech. Another reason this is an advancement is it created a capitalist economic system that has worked for many years. Socially, the expansion into the Western Hemisphere advanced human civilization is the freedom of speech and women’s rights and laws of that nature, but also the way humans interact socially have never been like they are now. The human civilization has become very social and the expansion into the Western Hemisphere only furthered the ability to be social. An example of this is without the expansion into the Western Hemisphere in the 15th and 16th century the United States would never be a country and if America was never created laws such as freedom of the press and freedom of speech people would not be able to communicate and be honest about opinions such as politics, the economy, and the people in power.
