The two openings I chose were Fol. 5v-6r done by Hand B and Fol. 18v-19r done by Hand A. In Fol. 5v-6r, the left side of the frames on both pages are lined with blue and the right side is lined with pink. In each of these frames is four squares that each have a background color of either gold, blue, or pink and decorative columns or arches at the top or along the sides. This opening is read left to right, top to bottom, and left page to right page. 5v depicts the story of Joseph. In the upper right of the left page, you see the Pharaoh lying on his bed asleep having a dream. Under his bed appears to be the seven heads of grain and the seven cows that were what God used to represent the seven years of abundance and famine in his dream. You can then see him talking to what appears to be the magicians and the wise men while sitting on his throne in the upper right. Then, as you move to the bottom left, you see Joseph knelt before the Pharaoh, which would depict the part of the story when Joseph interprets the dreams of the Pharaoh. Finally, the bottom right, you see the Pharaoh adorning Joseph with robes, signifying him placing his palace and the country of Egypt in Joseph’s hands. You also see Joseph riding in a carriage below that, which can represent him traveling through the land collecting rations for the seven years of
