The 1980s was the beginning of technology and what it will become, iconic music, movies, and television shows that will lead the way for the upcoming years. Computers were making progress at a very fast rate and would now be seen in someone’s home. Phones could now be carried in your pocket and music videos were on MTV. The songs, movies, and TV shows would become very well known even today. Throughout the decade TV was becoming more popular because it was now live, 24 hour, and the actors were portraying events and a lifestyle that people could relate to. The shows like Mork and Mindy had hilarious characters that people fell in love with, or Cheers a show that made people laugh and still relate to. Being able to follow characters in a family setting that talked about real issues with a slight sense of humor like The Cosby Show became popular not only because it finally featured a African American cast, but because of the family storylines and the topics they talked about. Tv would change and become what it is today because of what the 80s introduced. We gain channels that would show music videos, have more than one channel that would show 24 hours of news, and even new sitcoms about families. We can even see a select …show more content…

Shows like Full House would come back for a Netflix original called Fuller House, which would feature new characters and even old fan favorites. Even shows that came out in the beginning of the 90s, like Boy Meets World would become a sensation and end up getting a Disney Channel show called Girl Meets World which would now follow the main character Cory and his daughter going through the troubling times of middle and high school. This show would also introduce new characters for the viewers to relate to but also keep old favorites like Topanga, Cory’s love interest, and Shawn who was Cory’s best
