The 1990’s were some great years for many people. There are many great inventions, trends and many more. Some of my favorite things from the 90s are the invention of the PlayStation and the rise of rap and Eminem. Technological advancement The famous PlayStation made by Sony was released in 1994 and changed the world of gaming forever. The PSX brought never seen before disks to consoles instead of cartridges. Disks in consoles are now a common occurrence, thanks to the PlayStation. According to Britannica, Sony PlayStation (1994) states that, “Part of a new generation of 32-bit consoles, the PlayStation used compact discs instead of cartridges which hadn’t been seen before.” This shows the fact that the PlayStation brought disks leaving cartridges …show more content…

President George H.W. Bush proclaimed a ceasefire on February 28, 1991. According to history, the Persian Gulf War shows that, “President Saddam Hussein of Iraq ordered the invasion and occupation of neighboring Kuwait in early August 1990. Alarmed by these actions, Arab powers such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt called on the United States and other Western nations to intervene”. This concludes the reasoning behind the Persian Gulf War. A pop culture trend, Eminem, also known as ‘Slim Shady’ rose to success. Eminem gained attention when he developed Slim Shady, his alter ego. The character allowed him to express more of his anger, sadness and overall every emotion he had. The music of 90’s rappers was authentic, emotive, and often addressed important issues, making them significant voices for social justice.” This demonstrates why Eminem was so popular and why people loved to listen to his music in the 1990’s.
