The tenderness and compassion that the members of this Native American community had shown Teofolio and his family following his death is indicative of a close bond that these people share. For instance, when Leon and his brother-in-law Ken found Teofolio dead under the cottonwood tree, they ritualistically tied a gray feather into the old man’s hair, sprinkled corn meal and pollen into the win and then painted his face with a traditional white steak across his forehead, a blue streak across his cheekbones, a yellow streak under his nose and a green one across his chin. Once this was completed, they wrapped the corpse in a blanket and drove it back to Teofolio’s home where they redressed it in a brown flannel shirt and a new pair of jeans. Once Ken had left to seek out gravediggers for the burial, neighbors and clanspeople brought sustenance to the home so that the gravediggers would have something to eat after they had performed their task. The neighbors were also there to show the family some support by embracing them in silence as a way to honor the deceased.
Christian Response: Salvation, according to the Bible, is due to God’s grace and love. He provided Jesus as the sacrifice for the sins of the world. It’s through faith in the crucified and risen Jesus that we may be saved. Works are excluded (John 1:12; 3:16; Rom. 10:9-13; Eph. 2:8-9).

The restoration of the gospel and the organizing of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was replete with important events and inspiring doctrines that shed important light on the nature of God, man, and the Plan of Salvation. It is the purpose of this essay to describe ten important events and key doctrines that shaped the restoration. The Great Apostasy The Great Apostasy was an event that occurred shortly after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, when the Apostles that he had called were murdered or exiled, and the surviving disciples were left without proper authority or priesthood keys to pick up the pieces. What occurred was a large series of schisms, reformations, and altering of key doctrines that distorted the true
“The salvation gift of God in the New Testament is something other than life in a fixed physical environment.” The New Testament is an extension of the Law of the Old but it carries a different emphasis, one that is centered on the spiritual realm instead of the earthly.
Throughout the old testament we see that there are prophecies and foreshadows of what is to come in the future. Some of these prophecies are about the coming of Christ and of his crucifixion, we also see that the crucifixion and the resurrection was not just for Jews but it was for everyone who are saved by faith and through Christ Jesus. In Romans 3:22 it says “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile” and this once again is showing that Christ is for everyone who believes and that everyone is saved through faith. Another thing that is show in scripture is that Noah was a chosen one to be saved and to continue on the human existence.

This “process of the recognition and collection took place in the first centuries of the Christian church.” However, the development of the NT and the criteria was a long process of approximately 300 years. During this period of time, “in which the false teachers were “perverting the Scriptures,” suggests an already existing canon even before the publication of the various lists.” The first NT canon accepted in the Evangelical Protestant community was “endorse by Athanasius, bishop from Alexandria.”
