Recommended: Transition between high school and 4 year college

High school students looking to graduate encounter difficult decisions, and when making those decisions they need to look forward to hypothesize the outcome. America generally believes that a college degree is basically a requirement just for entering the working middle class. According to the essay “Should Everyone Go to College?” by Stephanie Owen and Isabel Sawhill, higher education is not a great investment for every student.
“I Have a Dream” is Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s extremely remarkable speech, even though he expressed many other encouraging and inspiring speeches. I chose the speech entitled “Loving Your Enemies”. Given on 17 November 1957 Delivered at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama for these reasons. Firstly, it 's one of his many inspiring speeches that is even being brought up in society now. Furthermore, “Loving Your Enemies” is something that is immensely complex, however utterly possible and crucial for humankind to exist harmoniously in this corrupt life.
College classes are going to be much more demanding and have a lot more works than most classes in High School do. I am able to work at least five hours a day, and still get all my homework done in the same night and I never go to bed any later than eleven. I am a workaholic though, and I feel like I need to be working to stay busy, or I would probably get in trouble. In College, I will not be able to work as much as I usually do, therefore, I will not be able to make as much money as I am used to. If I don't have as much money as I am used to, there is no way I will be able to spend as much money as I like.
Loans can quickly turn into a substantial amount of debt by the time a student completes their standard 4 year degree. As a result, this debt can carry on throughout their adult life and make starting that life more difficult. “A record share of students are leaving college with a
“Baby, I promise I’ll be back soon. There’s no need to cry, I’ll be back before you know it.” The worst phrases that I was accustomed to hearing almost every year. Being with your mother is a place that will forever be a child 's favorite sanctuary, however, I never experienced that sacred temple. Because of this missing piece in my life, transitioning has never been easier.
But for many families the high cost of college streches budgets to the limit and forces students to take on increasing amounts of debt (“ Reasons To Save For College”). By saving money and hopefully having good savings you could easily save yourself a couple thousand dollars by just simply planning and saving for
Saving up money while in high school would be an advantage and give that boost that others do not have. “...$6 per hour of that throughout high school have $24,960 in savings by then he starts college”(Steinberg 13). If a student were to start saving up while in high school they would have the money already in college and will not have such a big debt as they were to have with not saving up any money. Two jobs will also help. One job check can go to yourself and payments and your second job payment can go to college.
I do plan to go to college after I graduate. One thing that colleges expect is for you to come with some spending money so you don’t starve to death or don’t make it to school on time because you ran out of gas. Paying for college isn 't a simple process, but with the right resources, you can support your education in the best possible way. Let’s take a moment to figure out what options you have. As you prepare to go off to college, it’s very important to remember that the prices you might see listed for colleges is not the price you will have to pay. Most students will see these sticker prices and won’t even try applying for them.
Society often believes college is a necessary experience for a better future, but I argue that the future will not be any better when student debt becomes a part of life for those who follow that mainstream belief. Most parents often dream of the great colleges and universities that their children will get accepted into; however, they fail to think of the cost to attend those institutions. Financial aids! Financial aids! Yes there are financial aids that students can apply to lessen the student debt.
Is college worth it for student getting out of high school? I think that college isn’t worth for students out of high school, because of the cost of college, there are other options instead of college, and the employment rate of college students. In the next paragraphs I will tell you why I think college isn’t worth it to a high school student anymore. The first thing that I want to bring up is the amount of money needed to go to college.
The tuition and cost of college is detrimental to thousands of families across the country and brings student debt to future graduates. Some students have seen their debt climb over $30,000. Friedman writes, “The average student in the Class of 2016 has $37,172 in student loan debt…” (Friedman). With the debts being over the average income for single people households, college has transformed from a benefit to a burden. Young adults not only have to worry about their education but also paying for the next semester or years of college ahead of them.
Paying for the first two years of college leads to more debt for not only yourself, but the college that you choose as well. In America, 70% of college students are in debt. To be more specific we are currently $1.2 trillion in student debt. The reason being is because college is just simply to expensive.
August 14th, the day when it really hit me that I would be moving into college in one week. Up until that point I was really really excited! Although I was still excited the nerves started to kick in, I felt that I was not prepared to start a whole new chapter of my life and that there was still so many things that I needed to do, so honestly I started to panic a little bit, but that is just between me and you, no one else knew that I was stressing so bad. The Monday before move in day comes and now I realize that I seriously need to start getting ready, so finally I start packing everything in my room to make sure that I do not forget anything, but at the same time I have no clue what to pack seeing as this is my first time ever packing for college. The day finally gets here, move in day, all at the same time I am nervous, excited, sad and happy.
The transition from Primary school to Post-Primary school is a difficult time for anyone involved. It is one of the most drastic changes that students will ever encounter in the educational career. The transition is typically filled with anticipation and anxiety about homework, teachers, peers, academic rigor, school rules, getting lost, and many more factors. For the typical student, it is a whirlwind of emotion and anxiety. For students with special needs, these worries become even more prominent for the pupils and their parents.
