Social media gives people the power to show anything to the world. Much of the time this power is not for the good and can ruin them and their life. Kids and Adults alike are all so addicted to their phones that they can lose their jobs or potentially never graduate from high school. All of this can just happen from using your phone all day. Though some may argue using social media is good for connecting with other family members moreover to spread a positive message to other, but as good as social media is, social media can negatively impact a person’s life due to what they do online.
One reason how social media is bad is when people are not able to get a job due to their online life. In an article written by Kimberlee Morrison called “52% of Recruiters Check Social Media During the Hiring Process” she explains how “52 percent of recruiters say they always search for social media posts during hirings.” meaning that your social media accounts now control how you’re seen outside a job or job hiring. She also explains “61 percent of which result in negative outcomes for the potential employee.” this shows how over 50% of people can lose their opportunity at a job or any future jobs if one were to check their social media. …show more content…
